Not everyone likes Nintendo Corporation. Even my kids would rather have a PlayStation then Nintendo.

Sorry guy but they may be able to pull a game off the digital store but they can not remove it from your account or purchase history, that is completely false.
Another thing too, even if a game has been removed from the online store and you already "own the rights to the licence", if your game gets deleted you still are able to download it.
I also have never heard of anyone perma ban and losing all their purchases off psn or Xboxlive.

You can game share with digital and you can have what is called a digital collection.
I would rather have a digital collection then a pile a games taking up real space.
So back to the point, the only real benefit would be reselling games.
The only content locked is the free games from Ps+... Digital only has nothing to do with that. You guys need to start thinking.

Since you're so knowledgeable explain the other benefits of physical if it isn't about resale.
You're already digital only with a physical license. You don't play any games off the disc, you install the intire game on your hard drive and only use the disc to verify that you are allowed access to the game.
The only benefit of physical would be selling your games you don't want anymore.

I would expect BC out of the box for both consoles next gen. If you're buying physical games now I guess you would want a console with a disc drive. I buy digital only and I am not the only who does this so having the option to buy a digital only console works for alot of people even with BC next gen.

MS knows that their user base want traditional hardware and traditional gaming.
I don't believe MS is about to do anything else to lose anymore of their user base to Sony.

So are you saying that you don't connect your console to the internet?
I only ask because you license is your physical copy, and that game still runs of the hard drive not the disc. If any dev/pub screw you with an update or whatever, having the physical copy isn't going to change a thing.
The only way to prevent your fears from coming true would be to never ever go online.

And then your disc drive dies... ya, that's happened to me on more then one console.
My favorite game is also online only, I'm not knocking SP games but consider playing a game like Ark SP only. That would get kind of boring pretty quick.
There is nothing wrong with online games or online only. If that's not your thing at least you still have SP games.... right?

I get that people want physical games, and I am sure Sony and MS do as well. But explain how you have been burned on digital.
Blame Sony for what? Sony has a preview program, it's called free open beta's.
What's funny is that everyone that I know who are gamers are actually excited for fallout 76.
