Great to some, not so great to others. When the people and even streamers differentiate in opinion and score vs journalists, you know something is up. I'd say the fanbase is completely divided on this game, kind of like Death Stranding, which I think has a much better story than LoU2, I felt more emotion in that than this. Sucks this game fell so low.

Run far away from EA.

It might be a tough one for Horizon if Cyberpunk falls into next years GoTY bracket since it's release was pushed back to November. Honestly though it should've won GoTY back then, it had such great strides in combat, environment, story and characters. Sometimes nostalgia is enough to win it all.

When you constantly look for every instance of racism in life you're probably going to have a bad time. It's their creative project, you dont like it, then move on.

@ Snookies12 So you're a fan of the last season of GoT, the Disney SW trilogy ( especially TLJ), and the current seasons of the Walking dead then? The first LoU was just as messy but it was done in such a fashion that it had a lasting impact on you. That's what LoU2 is missing from a recent review I watched, any passion and nothing but the mess is left. That and all the leaks are confirmed now. Creativity is great and all but when continuing a beloved franchise, jumping off the d...

Kotaku, moving on...

Seriously though, I'm really digging the look, its definitely out there and different from any console since ps1 that we've seen thus far.

Forgot to add, developers shouldn't make a game that caters to themselves, they need to make a game that caters to the fans...you know, the ones who actually buy and put time into playing the game. That's like saying, hey I made this game the way I wanted and you have to like it. Ass backwards thought process if you actually believe that.

A compelling and coherent story? Hope not.

Killing them off is fine, again from previous statements, it has to be done to a degree that makes it feel....right. Like yea, that had to happen and damn I'm sad but it's time to move on. Last of Us isn't some show where main characters die off left and right every episode like the Walking Dead, it'll just numb you to newcomers and you'll have no attachment to them at all.

Fans aren't mad because of what happened, it's how it happened and from who it happened by. I'm all for it happening, it's just the execution of said thing needs to be perfect, otherwise it won't work. I'm hoping I'm wrong after the reviews start flooding out. Also, if this is a whole revenge circle jerk like I'm thinking, then yea, I'll wait for a discount, that's just lazy writing. Again...hope I'm wrong and there's more to it.

You can't be serious? That's the biggest load of horse shit I've heard. Games have been around for decades and all started without monetization, and guess what? They ALL flourished into the giants we see today with PC, Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo, etc...The whole "how will the developers ever live day to day without microtransactions" excuse is corporate BS! You realize they don't even see that money, right? That all goes to the big wigs up top in the form of b...

Gaming industry is going the way of tv show/movie streaming services. You get the base subscription then each publisher has their own subscription you'll be paying on top of the base subscription ie. HBO, Starz, Disney, DC, etc. No fucking thank you. I'll buy my games as a physical copy until I can't anymore, then I'll just pirate the shit. Fuck 'em.

Definitely a surprise hit for me. It's the perfect amount of open world not over encumbered with 100s of useless collectibles, side quests, and filler. A nice departure from the Assassins Creed grind. Story always keeps me invested and I like the twist on the freakers, legit not dead but alive and psychotic. On top of that the pacing is almost perfect and holy cow is it a loooong game. Solid 8/10 from me, really love it.

I'm hoping for the best, I'm always down for some post apocalyptic action. This, dying light 2 and TLoU2 are my most anticipated. Something about a ruined world recovering from the aftermath of a horrific trauma has always appealed to me, so serene yet deadly.

Remember when blops 4 released without any MTs then introduced them into the game a few weeks later...yea. It'll happen, no doubt about it.

I too, think Zero Dawn offered more from the story perspective and that the world just felt more alive and the enemy engagements were so intense and fun. There are aspects to BoTW that I loved, climbing mechanic, variety of weapons that can be used (not the breaking part, my GOD), challenge temples were very fun, and the exploring was rewarding but at times overwhelming because it was a little to MASSIVE for me. I think they need to pack more in to a smaller map. I hate that some developer...
