The question is: Why are there fewer 1080i/p sets now than 3 years ago? Back when I was shopping for mine, I didn't see even one 720p only set. They were all 1080i capable. Now 80% aren't!? WTF.

I was looking at their HDTV selection and was surprised to find that out of over thirty models, only 5 did 1080 at all and only the two most expensive sets (both over $3000)did 1080p. All the others were 720p or in the case of a couple of smaller cheaper plasmas, 420p. I was honestly surprised. I bought my set almost 3 years ago, and it does 1080i (and cost less than most of the similarly sized sets I saw today).
So when is this 1080p revolution coming? Compared to the sets...

The 360 version had 16 person multi-player.
You get different bad missions, unrealistic tilt function, and no rumble. It's a little hard to tell you're plane is being hit without rumble.

watching the PGR3 World Championships on Game Play HD. If you haven't seen them your missing some fun. Game Play's studios captured the races from Gotham TV and had professional race commentators calling the races. Things like this are the reason that the 360 is going to do well. Even if the Sony network is capable of it, it well be a long time before the bugs are all worked out and this sort of contest is practical.
