"Crytek USA is employing about 30 to 40 people out of the gate, so not everyone from Vigil is making the transition to this new studio. At least not right away.
Also, Crytek has no interest in pursuing the Darksiders property rights, so the studio is starting from scratch."
Well this sucks, guess no Darksiders 3, or if there is one, the franchise would have to be bought by someone else, and not made by Vigil. But I wish the best for the ex-Vigil emp...
I was hoping for alot of THQ's franchises and their respective developers (like Darksiders and Metro and Saints Row/Red Faction) to go to Ubisoft, theyre the only ones I trust as of now. Activision and EA cant be trusted.
I was hoping for a Mirror's Edge sequel, but after EA's latest "efforts", Im glad they havent ruined yet another gem.
Resistance 3 was a dissapointment, Fuse looks generic, and now developing iOS games?
The future of Insonmniac doesnt look too great unless the create high quality unique titles like they once used to
*reads title*
...and?
Explain
Valve have a right to defend their digital distribution of games on their own first-party software, however I hope Sony and MS dont introduce the dreaded System locked DRM, meaning no one can lend or resell their PHYSICAL product once its been purchased.
The replica watch from Metro 2033 didnt cost an arm and a leg, and it had actual use in the game, thus was relevant and WORTH buying.
Agreed. After AC3, and all the yearly releases, they need to give the series a break. This would be a perfect time to either reboot Prince of Persia, or give us a sequel to PoP08, which I personally enjoyed.
Well that was a quick end of discussion.
Who doesnt love Tiny Tina?
Welcome to the future of DLC and micro-transactions and season passes and online passes and disc-locked content and god knows what else.
Its only going to get worse from here on out.
Eww, generic...
Just gonna rent it, play the SP, then move on with my life.
Dead Space 1 will always be the best out of the franchise.
Hope Crytek gets the rights to Darksiders aswell, that way we can have a Darksiders 3 game made by ex-Vigil employees
Does anyone remember back when Dead Space had none of this micro-trnsaction, MP/Co-op, catering to the casual mobile gamer crowd, bullshit?
DS1 will always be the best in the series.
Why should Nintendo buy Vigil? Its just going to cause frustration from fans such as the Bayonetta issue.
DS1 was a gem, DS2 took a step in the wrong direction, and DS3 is pretty much gonna kill the franchise.
Makes me wonder what EA wouldve done to ruin another franchise like Mirror's Edge.
Maybe its good we dont have a sequel to that :/
Thats what I was waiting for too, but I guess since THQ is out and Vigil is down, there will be no complete edition of DS2 :/
I was hoping Ubisoft would snatch em up, Darksiders is a fitting game for their line of franchises
Not to say its a bad thing, It might have the same quality as some steam games
