Ps3's BD drive is slower than sh!t and needs UNCOMPRESSED data to make up for slower reading speeds. Mass Effect fit easily on DVD9 anything said to the contrary IS JUST PLAIN IGNORANCE.
p.s.- DEVS ARE ENCOURAGED TO MENTION THEIR USE OF BLU-RAY BUT NOTICE THEY NEVER SAY WHY THEY NEED IT!!!
The HD-DVD promotional group doesn't resort to these kind of tactics, this is half the reason it seems as though they aren't fighting back. HD-DVD shouldn't have to speak out against it's competition, anyone that takes the time to research the materials in question know that the best choice for the non-Sony consumer is hands down HD-DVD. Their isn't but two exclusive films on Blu that I can imagine anyone even buying, outside of the Disney films that is. BOO for BLU

How do you equate delays with perfection? Perhaps they had been lying to you all along. Perhaps Q2 is a reasonable amount of time to wait and see if the PS3 sells any better, still time to recoup development costs and make it a 360 game. I never played GOW but the stop action decapitation scenes in Conan are out of this world. I can understand why some didn't like the Demo as it had no tutorial and they probably just got their ass's handed to them. ... I don't know about system selling to the masses, but the ones that like Splinte Cell type games will definately be interested. I read a review, on here I think, that said it has adopted more of Splinter Cells game play, so that should make for a better if not the best MGS yet. As great a series as Splinter Cell has been I couldn't imagine it resulted in to many 360 sales. I believe most probably already owned the 360, as I'm sure is the same case with MGS.
It's amazing when you think about the intelectual minds that are playing these XBOX games. Not only can they master Halo 3 but they can coordinate making a video of it and edit said video. Amazing! This system definately recieves the best treatment, but not because of M$(well a little bit), but mainly because thats where the Top gaming community is, and their the ones buying the games. Happy to say I'm part of the gaming voice, and that we matter or our Dollar$ do anyway. Their is strength in numbers, and the numbers follow the great content = XBOX 360!
Why wouldn't I invest in the better format?
Perks of HD-DVD:
1. Best movies available
2. Dual format (use this all the time)
3. Best interactive features
4. Already released most of my favorite classics on HD-DVD
5. HD-DVD add on (runs independent from my games drive)
6. 8 free great movies to start off with
7. Neutral colored packaging doesn't spell doomed
8. Doesn't use propaganda to sell it's products

I play the heck out of my 360 and when I'm not one of my friends are so I'm here to say that these situations are BS and or limited to very particular circumstances. He doesn't show how he was storing the unit, it could have been wrapped in a black plastic bag running for hours b4 it melted for this fake story. I keep mine in a sealed cabinet, opened 1/4 of the way while playing, and I have not had one problem. Quit bashing senselessly the king of gaming consoles!
The interviewer said himself that it seems that the only people buying a PS3 are the Metal Gear Solid Fans, so If the hype is that strong for PS3 enthusiasts then a Demo would hurt overall sales. They need to use the mystery of the unknown to sell PS3s, even one bad review could stop 100 people from buying the system and that could account for a 1/3 of their possible sales.
It seems the Demo is the least of the MGS fans problems, all of the familiar game play has changed along ...

If any format could cross this barrier it would be HD-DVD, let me tell you why. HD-DVD is DUAL FORMAT!! DVD-9 on one side and HD-DVD on the other making it playable through either SKU#. Also, this is the perfect time to replace the Elite Price tag with this new HD-DVD SKU# keeping it afford ably in the $400 range even keel with the 40G PS3 only a 10x better value. HD-DVD theirs no stopping you now!

- @ emaddox84 , Thank you, in your case I understand. Perhaps FF & MGS drives many of you. This is understandable when it's the only way to play them. As for the Blu-ray I'm afraid I can't agree with it's longevity in the American Market, but High def is High Def as long as your enjoying your exclusive titles over the competitions.
