Protecting your investment just got that much harder. The people that buy movies, buy movies, and those that copy only, will only copy. Those people who copy only are not going to all of a sudden start buying the Movies when they are used to getting it for free or for the price of a rental. These protections only hurt the people that invest their hard earned money, and want to protect their investment. With a release date somewhere in 2009/2010 you can bet by then even Sony will be selling movies on HD-DVD format. Where there is demand, Supply soon follows. Fox will turn sooner mark my words!

The difference between a 1080i and a 1080p TV is barely noticeable, not even a trained eye let alone a PS3 Fan or any consumer for that matter can even tell with the naked eye.
The biggest difference would probably just be in the quality or brand of your old TV vs. the newer 40", thats all.

I think it's great that the younger generation gets to see what the perception of gaming was and began as. So when we say the graphics in Graw2 or Gears of War look stellar we really know what were talking about, kids today have it better than they realize. Gaming has come a long long way! By the way I could have been anyone of those kids in those commercials, as I had them all.

PC games have done this for some time, and I do believe that other console games in the past have also. Just because the PS3 charged you $200. extra in order to avoid this, it happens so infrequently that it doesn't even matter. I'm sure it will be isolated for some time to the split up of single player and multiplayer, better for us in the long run really.

The handful of PC gamers I play Shadow Run with say they really enjoy it. It's a lot of fun unlocking cross platform achievements, they put some good ones in there. The way the game balances without actually taking anything away from the game play truly shows hope for this undertaking. Konami must tread lightly while breaking exclusivity, hence the tightly kept traps.
