Jesus, some people need to RTFM. Context of the article is 100% performance of the game.

1. The article is retelling the observations of another party. Said party played the game in person. Not over any streaming platform. The base article is from www.pcgameshardware.de
1a. followup post by original author: I also asked and saw the start parameters before the game call (nope, no Geforce-Now-streaming): 1080p, DLSS on (quality), Vsync off, Raytracing Reflections on,...

If I could hand you more than one upvote I would. I swore Microsoft off after throwing $600 in the fire over my repeat failures of 360 units.

The length of a game as a measure of how passionate the developers are. If I cannot finish the storyline of your game in 30-40 hours directly. It is toooooo long

@SyntheticForm
Nowhere did AlexKoehler say the game 'only' relies on narrative. Its narrative IS a selling point to push the game. If it didn't have one we would not be here arguing about the merits of it.
Also, yes, two main things that drive game sales IS gameplay + story. If you sell a product touting both and fail to absolutely deliver one one of those premises then it is a flawed delivery. The game did have a story, just not a good one. if you base your revi...

Pretty much verbatim of the article's viewpoints. Themes and story suck. Technical execution is a masterpiece of work.

Pretty much this.
When attaching a sequel to ANYTHING there is a pedigree the fanbase expects. When you upset that pedigree do not be surprised that your reputation is tarnished as a result. Otherwise, do not call it a sequel if you want to do something different. The literary world is literally rife with alternative definitions for different ways of storytelling.

Look at Star Wars
Ep. VII : Great movie but a copy.
Ep. VIII: Devisive. Few loved it...

What I see is Sony asking the consumer, "What do you want the market to do moving forward?"

Is it keep disc availability or dump the drive and go 100% digital. However, they are going to skew the consumer response by gapping the purchase price by $50-100. Sony really wants to maximize royalties of game purchases, but have dug a hole by conditioning the market to adopt blu-ray drives. This is them trying to convince people they have a choice on where the market is...

Final Fantasy Xii battle system is so underrated. I wish it would make a return.

I remain skeptical that the developers will learn, any time soon, to stream data real-time from the SSD. Initially we will see more clever disguising of loading before we get to see what true streaming of levels and assets is.

Lets put the ME Trilogy release from PS3 on PSNow and leave it at that.

Get a load of Franky over here folks.

GPU is God and CPU, memory, or storage play absolutely no role in what ends up on the screen.

I am getting that estimation from the fact that is known that development RESET in 2019. Given that AAA games are a minimum of 2 years development time. its safe to say with these announcements that the game is still a ways off from completion. 2-3 years with only 1 year into fresh development is a no-brainer.

Did you even read the article?

Wait. I bought a Switch two years ago based on this announcement, and they are still hiring artists. FML. That is what I get for buying hardware based on hype.

"The new hires at Retro Studios have worked on some high profile stuff, so let’s take a look! Nicholas Wilson’s ArtStation account shows off some of his VFX work..."

"Since its first announcement back in 2017, Metroid Prime 4 has undergone an interesting development process to say t...

Yeaaa. In development for 9 years. Alpha state for 7 years. Think it is time for people to accept what is driving this project, HYPE and Development Creep.

I do not see this game ever, EVER, leaving alpha state, because its too easy to close up shop and cut ties and abscond with the money when there is not product to be responsible for. If the game is perpetually in alpha development you can sell off the assets and run to Belgium with the money. Otherwise, Chris Roberts wo...
