The last time stores did this, the Xbox One outsold the PS4 in the U.S during that month. I think that's why they are doing it again and maybe MS has something to do with it.

I think he's mad Sony is remastering those games for those who missed them last gen and made the jump this gen to PlayStation. He knows after they experience games like TLOU, GOW, and UC, it will be hard to get those gamers back. As Spencer has stated himself "we don't have a game of that quality, so we made a deal for Tomb Raider."

That show was very average. I was expecting more from a franchise like Gears. I think they could've done a better world premiere demo. That was lacking. Same goes for Tomb Rider.
And the "the best line up in Xbox history" is kind of exaggerated for what I saw today.
Then we have some misleading statements by Kudo about VR on Xbox and by Spencer right at the end about all the games they showed being available to play "this holiday".
