Last gen was pathetic anyway for a lot of reasons:
1.MS RRoD.
2. The transition was about graphics and most of the gen gameplay is suck.
3. Xbox Live cost money is start of all lameness.
4. Limitation of DVD made things a lot worse.
5. PS3 complicated stracture, had pushed away Japanese developers and made an great impact on JRPG genre, which was a failure genre.
6. Milking strategy started with Activision, Bathesda, EA and Capco...
Agree it would be far better if this game was released as new IP it would make sense and far better than a 100 years sequel. I mean this is the same mistake of Dark Cloud 2 which is so weird.
But in graphics and performance debates, Nintendo fanboys claims its a portable!!!
However, I agree Switch been better than Xbox by miles.

KH3 mos important release for whole next year except if death stranding released.
This would fit every EA and Ubisoft and more than half of SE titles, but not Spiderman at all.
P studio, Fromsoftware, Gurilla, Platinum Games, CD projeckt and couple of devlopers really did great this gen, however, nothing is comparable to what Santa Monica delivered this gen with GOW, the transition is just phenomenal in term of design, graphics, the lore, the story, gameplay etc.

Look Tabata that how FFXV must look and feel. You ruined 2 of most rich of portentials games ever Type 0 and XV.
The problem that facing Days Gone right now far more than a technical thing, the game about Zombies and I think Last of Us, Daying Light, Dead Island, Dead Rising and COD zombie DLCs delivered a lot that pushed people over the genre, meaning people now have top two quality titles: Dying Light which it is a FPS sandbox and the othe titile is The Last of Us which it is a Third person linear game and each are eliminating the competition in their own catagory, so Days Gone must delivers phenomena...
Akihiro Hino, the creator of Dark Cloud, Proffesor Layton, Rouge Galaxy and director of Dragon Quest 8,9 and writer of both Ni Nu Kuni games and helped in directing Ni Nu Kuni 2.
He is brilliant guy that keeps presenting best JRPGs ever, but westren journalists keeps ignore him to cover up SE, Activision, EA and Bathesda latests craps.
Darl Cloud 2 is most underrated game ever, that thing deserved more attention than any FF after X.
Versus XIII Nomura vision was completely cut off and Tabata put his aweful touches and ruining everything and couldn't even fix it.

Gold words. Its make me sad everytime whenever I hear news for XV. That game should still as Nomura game, but Wada and higher ups of SE are so ignorant and put Tabata who couldn't even complete a PSP game and of course facing the exact issues of XV.
Hajime Tabata he had 3 years to finish a game that had already good foundation but instead he scraps over good thing released mediocre XV title with weird DLC settings that made no sense as much as the base game. Moreover, he had 5 years to release an high potential PSP game which is Type 0 and again he ruined it with his mediocrety.

PS1 was most advanced system and gor supported, PS2 was most advanced system beating silly mini DVD Nintendo system and double layer CD Sega System. PS3 was most advanced system although was so late its beats out the hell of 360 in midway(without counting the RROD figures), PS4 is the most advanced system at release and beats Wii U and Xbox one.
The only exception I see in these 4 generations is Wii which no one really took it serious...
