The ps2 was a huge push for DVD format in Japan. Before the ps2, the dvd market was horrible in the country. We can look at sony's affects on other countries and not just our own.
It's a shame it was released too late in the ps2's lifespan/gen for most people who own next gen consoles to take a look at it.
