my bad it was 8 levels still 16GB+ of level data alone. :D I mean one of the biggest (file wise) games I ever played started at 17GB on PC and it was VGSoH an MMO. This is mad data. I think KZ2 is going down as a technical marvel in console history, all those impressive visuals with no install aside from installing DLC.

each level of KZ2 took up 2GB+. 10 levels x 2 rougly 20GB for this data alone....and there is more then just the level data. We are not even far into the PS3 life cycle and game file sizes don't get smaller as time progresses...

Mhmm cause we want future games to look like Ghostbusters which uses old school code instead of KZ2 which is coded for an advanced chipset.Once a studio builds an engine thats optimized for PS3 it does not take more time and money. Introducing new tech does mean you have to invest in new engines thats a good thing though advancing hardware and software is good.

Sure the eDRAM is great yet Xbox360 takes a tiled rendering approach as the full rendertarget can't fit in the eDRAM buffer since its only 10mb So its not clean cut as you state. While it aids in ways there are also draw backs and RSX is clocked faster in the end its not as huge difference as you make it seem IMO. As long as devs code properly as exclusives show.

The PS3 GPU is actually faster 550 MHZ vs 360's 500 MHZ , it does not have the onboard eDRAM 360's gpu has though and the RAM is not unified. You can't expect to input traditional code in both systems and a game to come out = thats just not going to happen.
How is taking a sony liscence ip and developing it on multiple systems and not taking the time to make it look proper on sony's system not a jack move?
