When I take my SWITCH anywhere without internet I have NEVER EVER had it want to check online. THis is not the original xbox one before they took the check in out.

So you do know that before PS4 announce xbox 1 announced. And people assumed it was more powerful do to the PS4 rumors.
But it turned out PS4 was MORE powerful than xbox one. The EXACT same thing can happen this time around with Xbox seriesX and PS5
And while your doing that, you will be doing what your customers want. Not what Microsoft insist on making you want. You will love these online only games in rent to never own games, or we will drop out of the console business!
Okay I will admit most SWITCH AAA games are single player even if they have multiplayer modes like Mario cart, arms, super smash, splattoon. But I cant see you putting Microsoft there in terms of AAA 1st party games.

Sounds like a good argument, except that Microsoft can license it out and it would no longer be proprietary, and the prices would drop FAST. So if your right then we will see Microsoft license it out. If not then maybe Microsoft is being M$ again.
Actually according the statistics only 31% of homes have 4k tv's. So I think they will make sure the majority will have a lower 1080p image already prepared. Just like this gen has 4k prepared.

Compression is to save storage space by making the file smaller, but it take processing power. They have decided it is better to include BOTH resolutions instead of slowing your system down, with compression.
Your right. It was one reason many did not want to buy the system. It also delayed me bye a couple of years waiting for the price of the cards to drop below $100 for just 8GB, This never happened. Of course the other reason was Nintendo's 1st party AAA games. But they didn't need a negative.
ONce the SWITCH did it, it was in the cards. err....It was bound to happen. Sony and Microsoft are not going to let Nintendo keep that to themselves. They went back too. The reason they left in the first place was Money and Capacity. starting with the segaCD,
Now the Money is getting closer, and the capacity is getting closer between the two forms. So they are all three going back to some soft of memory cards, instead of spinning discs are platters.

except Memory used as carts have always been better. Just TOOO expensive. Why do you think Nintendo kept saying they kept quiet about the SWITCH as long as possible because the competition will copy the CART? Because they are VERY fast MEMORY!
