No one needs a superhero in a MK game! Ninja Gaiden could be good, anyway.
I agree with you that Microsoft's DVD decision was a big mistake from the beginning. At least 15GB(x2=30GB, x3=45GB, x3extended=50GB) HD-DVD would be good for games.
But most of games don't take so many GBs. Like Mass Effect. Another game on the edge of DVD-DL capacity. It's so clear that BioWare decreased something to fit in that DVD. Content, Texture or whatever.
SO, 1GB is something, sometimes!

Developers don't have to decrease texture quality to fit their game into 1 Dual Layer DVD, anymore. Remember that Forza 3's second DVD has 1.3GB extra content.

Consoles will be maxed out when the developers give up making game for.
Making a game for a limited hardware limits the quality of products that the developers make. Sometimes they will have to do an "Egg in the bottle" trick. Why do exclusive games look best on the target console? You can make your most killer blow, and hit the bullseye if your bottle is one, alone...
Making a game for a variable hardware is either easy or hard. It's easy, because you can make lots of quality options in order to make your product run on large numbe...
Selling a hardware with locked capabilities, than improve features to gain much more attention... before christmas

In actual Minority Report scene,
Tom Cruise's every single finger was equipped with little Playstation Move like devices. But Kinect's sensor can do it without any additional devices. This is good, but anyway Kinect's cams & infrared emitter should have had HD supported. (Cams' res are 640x480 and IE's res is 320x240)
I think, a possible Kinect 2 for next Xbox will have much better detection capabilities.

Kinect's lag is changeble game to game. New games and new Kinect updates will make the lag even shorter. Zero lag is not possible after all.
