I really don't care too much for Gears 2, either. I enjoyed the first game and this was more of the same, but there's only so much praise that can be lauded upon the franchise no matter how fun it is to use a Lancer to rip heads off. This broken multiplayer business is turning me off ever using it.
I also found the combat in Mirror's Edge to be quite unnecessary. There's an achievement for having never used a gun throughout the entire game, so that just proved you don't need to use them anyway. I have found it to be way more fun running away from guards and finding quick exits.
Wholeheartedly agree.
"Bear in mind you won't see Princess Peach or Navi on this list -- it's a well-established fact that they're some pretty obnoxious broads."
We already know she's annoying!
Good choices if they were actually women. >.>
I thought that movie looked pretty horrendous. XD
I was initially excited about Prince of Persia, but not so much lately, because I've gotten so many new games that I'll never have time to finish them all now.
I didn't particularly enjoy the first Assassin's Creed but I finished it anyway. A new setting would be more interesting.
Though it may seem simplistic to many, I for one enjoy Halo's story. Its relative simplicity is WHY I like it so much. You can get so much from all the games and novels, also the comics, that it's so easy to get completely involved. It doesn't behave as if it's too "intelligent" of sci-fi for everyone to grasp, and that's what makes it work. I can't wait to play Halo Wars, it's one of the few RTSs that I am actually excited for.
I enjoyed the first Killzone, but I don't have a PS3 to try this out for myself. It is rather disappointing, though, that it hasn't been as polished as I would have liked.
I saw the little screen capture from L4D that foretold the new class. I just recently bought TF2, so that'd be an interesting addition.
This is one reason I wasn't too excited about LBP. I don't have a PS3, but aside from that, it really shouldn't MATTER if you're using level designs or items that are copyrighted. You're not making money off of it, and neither is Sony.
I really did enjoy the first Gears' story, but I haven't gotten to experience the second yet.
How many hours must have they put into this consecutively?!
It's fun for a little while, and if you're into achievements, there's that, at least.
No matter what happens, I think people are still going to focus on entertainment before a lot of other areas in their lives.
I went to GameStop yesterday and I thought it was hilarious that each time the employees answered the phone, they were adding that they had Wiis in stock until I overheard the manager telling them they didn't have ANY in that day. =/
That same segment stuck out to me, mainly because HOW many movies and CDs are released alongside those games?
I really do sit on the couch every night with my DS or PSP at some point, get pissed when they run out of battery, and am too lazy to plug them into the wall. Sad.
I enjoy the occasional game that isn't grit-your-teeth hard. I'd still purchase PoP.
