wow, the video makes it look nice. looks like some good gameplay. certainly playable at e3 then. the explosion from the bazooka is very cool!
yeah, but does this update maybe mean that we can now play mtk files w/o the need to re-encode? that would be so nice!

yeah, i think it's silly, but it could be a good idea to compete with the wii since the ps3 really competes more with the 360. this could make it easier to have wii games ported over to ps2 and then you have the whole ps2 catalogue as well. i guess we'll see how it works out. maybe we'll see it in action at e3?
make sure you read everything there at overstock. sounds like they are refurb. and no where does it list any other warranty other than a 14-day return policy, so buy at your own risk. heck of a deal though if you get one that can last...
yeah, but this is hardware sales. it's interesting to note that the sales of the actual movies is not 50:1. like warfed said, not every ps3 is used for a blu-ray player.
then again, not every ps2 was used as a dvd player either, but it certainly helped dvd sales. just beacause of the numbers alone, blu-ray will probably continue to lead in movie sales.
i think what the dev is saying is that *their* games are maturing. that is through the natural progression of the consoles, they are trying to push the envelope from one generation to the next. they are allowed to have an opinion as well and they believe that halo3 (halo2.5?) is not progressing the game genre as they believe they are with whatever they have up their sleeves.
and sigh, i will be like all the other sheep and buy and enjoy halo3 too, but i don't feel like they are...

i agree with you man. tribes is one of THE best multiplayer games ever. i miss tribes :(
and i'm looking forward to halo3 as much as the next person, but is there really THAT much of a difference in multiplayer? i mean, add 1 grenade and 1 gun and upgrade the gfx a bit and people start frothing at the mouth. it's like, halo 2.5 for multiplayer now! oh well, i don't get it. anyways, i can't wait to play the single player and finish the story up!
i think the biggest point to make out of this article is there is yet ANOTHER splinter cell coming out. seriously, retire splinter cell! we are tired of the game/franchise! a new refreshing game would be great! some original IP! seriously!

i agree, i think a combined review (ie metacritic) will give you a very good gauge of what a game can really be rated, given a number scale. reviews are still important and so are opinions, just as they are for movies. games are a form of media and entertainment and no different than movies.
and sure, one site or magazine might be more biased because they are on a certain companies pay roll, that's why it's important to get views and reviews from many different sources. and if ...

sony and ms both pull this same tactic. show very little of our premiere, exclusive titles and then we throw you a bone once every six months and the fans get hyped and the haters/skeptics do what they do best. seriously, they are both "guilty" of the same thing, but you know you like it =)

and i was hoping that with the new site update, that all the negative fanboys and bashers would go away, but i guess not. i was hoping that this would be a community again where people are fans of ALL games instead of being console dictators and haters. oh well, back to me just reading news and not reading comments/participating anymore.
so, ps3 has about a 97.5% success rate working with older games and the possibility to reduce that down even further. seriously, you can't really complain about that number...

i played both. warhawk wins hands down. halo feels like the "same old, same old." however, warhawk is not an fps and warhawk is multiplayer only, which is sad. i still am looking forward most to the halo3 single player mode.
