when screen door is eliminated and foveated rendering shrinks the difference in quality of graphics to non vr experiences, it's going to be like the eighties, when gaming was floundering and the NES revived it. VR is too amazing to die. It will continue to improve well into the future where many will spend more time in a ready player one VR world than in the real world.
I wish next gen would quit trying to improve polygon, frames, and pixels, and put those resources on ai, physics, etc...
