I dont game when im out either, but I can see myself taking this with me when I travel instead of the Samsung Galaxy tab I currently use for entertainment.
People also like to forget that the Switch is using Nvidia architecture. Look at the performance boost Vulkan had on Doom. Nvidia is miles ahead of AMD in regards to driver and hardware optimization.
Heres hoping Square Enix releases FF15 and FF7 remake on the Switch. And for all that is bright and incandescent, please make us a sick new game for the Switch FROM SOFTWARE! \[T]/
Disappointing to not see Dontnod on there, there games arent the most demanding performance wise, they would make great additions to the Switch lineup, I would buy Life is strange again just so I could play it portable <3

It has an Nvidia Tegra processor, it should run as well as the Nvidia Shield.
Mobile the screen runs at 900p 30fps, docked most likely 900p upscaled to 1080p 30fps - some titles may push 60 I think.
For comparison, the Shield runs at 720p 30fps mobile, 1080p 60fps plugg...
Smart phones can not run Zelda, or Skyrim remastered. And this should have the same power as an Nvidia Shield but with better optimization (hopefully) and Nintendo first party games.
Smartphones do pack more power then the 3DS and a lot of people still play on that device, this will attract people, its attracted me and Im not a portable player, i can imagine taking it with me when I travel.

Im think $400 - $500, which I will be comfortable with. There is also no way they will release it with a Pro Controller either, I think for the system as is you will use the little side controllers like the lady is halfway through the video.
Why would they be cheaper? Cartridges in general are more expensive then discs, and a $60 game is a $60 game whether its digital, on disc or on a cartidge.
What im really curious about is the batteries. The screen must have its own battery, and the side controllers must have there own batteries as well. I wonder if the controller batteries will share power with the screen while attached, will the controls connect to the screen natively or will they remain connected via IR/bluetooth? (would have to chew power) and what kind of battery life is expected out of it.

Ive been patiently waiting on this reveal to decide whether I wanted a PS4, PS4 Pro or a Wii U, guess what... The Switch (hate the name, NX was better) has sold me.

So it looks like you get a center piece so that you can attach the side controllers and make them a Switch gamepad of sorts, and the guy in the video also docked the Switch with its controller attached and used a Pro Controller (most likely sold seperately).
No doubt though this thing will probably get 3rd party gamecube style controllers and fight pads for games like Smash.
It doesnt look like they're marketing this to kids (maybe to us big kids), it is still a pretty good home console to own though, and looks like Nintendo are making the effort to support 3rd party developers. Just discipline your kids not to f*ck around with it.
900p is fine, its great for the handheld, and wont look much worse then native 1080p on the dock, Id much rather a smoother running game upscaled, over a choppy game trying to run native.
I really was hoping that the dock was some kind of external graphics cards though, if they stuck a 1050 in there, ooh boy look out Sony and Microsoft.
This thing would actually be a mid range pc, 1080p 60fps Anti Aliasing all turned up would be no problem, And I love the cartridges, loading...

The dev kit had 3 hours of battery life, if you think the dev kit is the same product that Nintendo plan to launch next year you are a fool.
The WiiU controller with its touchscreen and wireless connectivity and internal speakers could get 8.5hrs of life with the larger Nintendo battery with power saving options.
