I know right. I know those games aren't in the same league as Reach, or genre for that matter, I just picked some games that had the same score to use for examples. But I mean, they gave ODST a 4/5, and I guess they felt there was no difference between ODST and Reach?
I agree, ratings should be out of 100. That way, if they were to score ODST the same as Reach out of 100, then we know something is wrong with them. But because they chose to have ratings /5, we can't ...
Another good solid letter grade for Reach...I'm guessing an A/A+ would be the same as 9/10 I'm assuming?
I'm a little shocked that 3 sites have given it a 4/5 or 8/10. I never would have though Reach would get those low of scores. But it's looking good overall :D
Its not that I dont think its a bad score. I just look at other games such as MW2, which they gave a 5/5, and then look at these games like Alan Wake, Halo 3 ODST, Skate 3, etc..all get 4/5's and apparently Reach is on the same level as them? This is where the whole /5 rating score blows, and they need to improve it.
Yea but c'mon. Reach has SP, MP, Forge 2.0, new Engine, new charcters and charcter models, new weapons, new environments, spread out battles and way more scenery, new armour affects, and you get the idea. GoW3 had what? polished button mashing gameplay and that was it. Not saying that GoW3 was a bad game, but I'm just trying to get this point across to Gertsmann that the 5-point rating system doesn't really work anymore. (should be 10-point standard or grading out of letters)
Well so far out of 38 reviews in already...The average score for Reach is a 9.4. Which is a well-deserved and absolutely great solid score for the last Halo game Bungie will ever make (for the for-seeable future)
Of course, the score would be a bit better if GiantBomb (the main one I've seen) didn't give it a poor 8/10.
And you know what...people complain about people like me because I complain about sites giving Reach an 8/10, as if it were a ba...
Wow...I honestly don't know what to say about this...I thought giantbomb was gonna deliver the 5/5...but I don't know wtf to say about this 8/10 from GiantBomb???
Well out of all the reviews I've read tonight,this has got to be the lamest and most retarded one of them all. I think David Hasselhoff had something to do with...cause you never mess with the hoff. Lol.

wow...dang. I thought the lowest score Id see for Reach is 8.5. Never thought I'd see an 8.0...These guys must not like Halo at all.
ok...so by that logic, then reviewers should rate and judge a game based on what they offer, then get dinged for not offering the other one. So if a game only has SP and no MP (depending what genre) or if a game is only MP (Warhawk/MAG) with no SP, then they should be judged as such for leaving out features other games have...dont you think? but I know what your saying...

This is what I don't get. Out of the 3 reviews I've read that have given Reach an 8.5, the only reasons I've seen are about the SP Campaign, and only in certain areas. So just cause the SP is not completely 100% awesome, means the score drops 1.5?, yet some games with no story what-so-ever and no "fun" gameplay get higher scores?
But that's alright, everyone is entitled to thier own opinions. I think the lowest scores we will see tonight will be 8...
I think all the scores we will see tonight will be very very good scores. It will be hard to tell complete bias from an honest one (although you could guess by the score they give). I think Reach will get an average of 9.2-9.5, but I think the lowest score will be 8.5...(even I think that's low, but I am a fan of Halo so yea.)
Its hard to see a fellow Vancouver-born Game Designer be murdered and have his life taken away.
May I suggest/proclaim to N4G.com staff and moderators, that the N4G PAX Swag Giveaway should be put on eBay to auction off; with most, preferably all, of the proceeds going to his wife and soon-to-be-born baby?
