Sony has never commented on how much RAM they were allocating for their OS. Just coz ppl took the 1gb os as a fact based on rumor, it doesn't mean Sony has to provide them with 1 GB of RAM for OS. if that was the case sony would be making the PS4 based on feedback and recommendation from fans on the interwebs. PS4 is not a crowd funded venture
seems like there's a lot of stuff sony haven't yet told us about the ps4 features. otherwise no need for this 3.5gb chunk of memory for os.
