@indysurfn i always thought taxes were to blame for the continental disparity of game/console prices
time to triangle might be shorter, but nowadays the overall quality of games are much higher (those high res textures don't create themselves, and them hifi audio doesn't generate itself, and higher polygon characters aren't made from a macro). but yes i do feel like the publishers are trying to maintain last gen prices on games.

Yes, that would be a cheaper option. but my worry about importing from US is that it won't be covered by warranty in this region. In the early days of a console launch, outside technicians will charge an arm and a leg to get a PS4 repaired if there is any problem with it.
if the ps4 is significantly cheaper in malaysia, i'd much rather take a bus to malaysia on a weekend, buy the console, have a blast and get back to singapore to play the console :D (i hate haggling with the likes of sellers in sim lim square.)

apart from 1st party studios, you forgot to mention changing the internet infrastructure of the entire world to some kinda alien neutrino network would be required to pull this off. btw what they showed at E3 was in a closed and controlled environment they can't achieve even a fraction of that performance in the wild.

i don't know about the general populace but i don't buy a substitute game console to compensate for lack of games on my console of choice. imo buying a game console is an investment for the future !
