3DS price cut reason is bad sales/losing marketshare to smartphones.This way they opened the doors to casuals-the ones that bought DS in droves.
Vita will have huge problems in selling too,probably even bigger than 3DS.Software will be especially hard to sell on Vita,not to mention that it has zero chance to impress casuals.
