I hope they find their way to disc as well.
"If they could hook this up with the NGP, like Kojima has been teasing, it would make for an awesome experience"
I'd rather see two different games with some sort of interactivity. Like playing eachother in MGO 2.0....or something.
"Strange since the GC version was heralded as the best of the lot"
The later releases featured some subtle fixes to gameplay. They can easily fix up the graphics nice and pretty, whatever version they use, but it's the Ps2/PC build that has the most polished gameplay.
For example, I remember a part with one of the ogres (Or whatever they are), the optional pathway one, where the boulder was clumsily placed on the GC version, while the ps2 versi...
"Blair Herter got looks at big Xbox 360 content coming this year - Halo: Reach "Defiant" Map Pack, Fable III: Traitor's Keep, Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster, and Child of Eden for Kinect"
These are the "Big Ones" on the 360??
"$101 to make, how much for labor? How much to ship to retail? Home much to promote? How much for research and development? All adds up"
That doesn't necessarily mean it adds up to $200+.
Labor? Cheap communist labor. A few pennies to the console.
Shipping to retail? Not THAT much. Shipping a few pounds of weight x how many are shipped together...it's a handheld.
Research/Dev? Fair enough, but should we pay so steeply to...
I guess the people who claimed Crysis 2 has the best graphics on consoles because of some lighting effects - despite being sub-HD, poor AA, not keeping up to 30fps, having a poor latency, etc - will LOVE the PS3 version (lol, like those persons have one).
Snarky comment out of the way, Crytech did a decent job. I mean, look at some of the disasters other developers release. This is certainly above average.
He couldn't afford lawyers without your donations, and now he can suddenly afford a vacation.
He is spending "your" ("your" being anyone who was foolish enough to donate) money on vacation. Period.
I hope the idiots who donated to this guy are happy. Their money is going to "contract vacations" (lol).
Hint: It's the people who only have one, trying to prove it to be the greatest game ever, vs the people who have both.
Nothing new. It's been this way since 2009.
Well, look at the richest and most powerful (politically). The meek have indeed inherited the earth.
Darn dorks and their monies.
Why so many HD Collection delays? :(
I want my ICO and (real) Splinter Cell!
"Edit:Out of curiosity how many people from this site have helped japan in anyway they can??"
I helped organize a drive with a large group of other people. We've raised about $200 in one day. And tomorrow will be day 2.
And pop machines. If you hit them twice with a Crowbar.
I just played the demo a few days ago. Didn't care for the android-ish AI, you know, where everything is aimed at a corner to kill you the second you turn it (As if they were androids that could see through walls). Be it people, turrets, whatever.
LOVED Half-Life 2, though.
I can't take a reviewer seriously that starts by making a ridiculous comparison like Crysis 2 to Killzone 3.
"Halo games will be 'scrutinised differently' without Bungie"
Pffft, no it won't. Not unless the game turns out not as good.
Don't know who disagreed with you. That IS the truth.
Why the thought us "yanks" needed his name changed to "Waldo" is beyond me. WalDO sounds kinda derpy. Imagine old Waldo; Find confused Waldo, bring him back to the home.
If these screens are indicative of the entire game, then besides the slightly lower resolution (Though both are sub-HD), the PS3 version looks great. Better in many ways, even.
Yeesh, Crytech. You release a beta that looks like garbage, and now this curve ball. I don't think I can believe it until I actually play for myself at this point.
The latency and framerate better be a LOOOOOOT better than the demo. That's something that can't be seen i...
And at a decent framerate. It was pretty iffy in terms of framerate on the PS2.
The gameplay on the PS3 that I've seen, though, looks great.
"what I can tell you right now is Crysis 2 on Xbox360 is easily one of the best looking games of this generation"
This guy needs to be introduced to "THE TRUTH"
Crysis 2 is sub-HD on both consoles, has poor anti-aliasing (Thus "jaggies"), pop-ins like mad, and poor latency.
Killzone 3 is HD, has MLAA, fewer pop ins, and a much better latency (highly improved from Kz2 - Not that it matters in this silly comparison...
Crysis 2: Sub-HD, poor AA, low FPS, poor latency.
Killzone 3: HD, MLAA, steady framerate, great latency.
Crysis 2's lighting effects and semi-opened up areas don't make up for the fact that it's technically unstable and blocky.
If Killzone 3 isn't enough for you, let Uncharted 2 and God of War 3 give you a laugh over this suggestion.
