Star Warz Battlefront is the E.T. of this generation. Its clear it was rushed out to try and cash in on not only the nostalgia of the previous games but the new movie hype and for me both the movie and SWBF sucked.
So really to me anyway, he didnt clearify anything. He basically just restated what he said before; they want shorter hardware cycles or upgradeable hardware.
Im pretty sure PC gamers dont want the console experience and those that do already have a console. Same goes for console gamers. Stop trying to force the market into your idea of what the market should be because you see $$$ signs.

I believe Tim side you could side load but only after digging to find it and turning it on. His point is its like android where the default is set to a closed system. If its an open system why is it set defaultly to closed side load? Because the average consumer isnt going to question it and turn on side load.
I dont think any of this means anything really, GFWL failed and I think this idea is going to fail too. Time will tell.

In general yes. For people who come to this site probably not but not everyone is as informed as they should be so yes its a problem and Ubisoft knows exactly what they are doing. If reviews come out that are negative before launch it will hurt the launch.
After 30yrs of being a gaming consumer here is what Ive learned. Usually devs, pubs and hardware markers dont follow trends they try to make them. In general they try to set them in their own favor, hence the orginal xbone launch plan. Now MS is trying to set another trend unified platform.
They are doing this because they realize the xbone isnt going to over take the PS4 and this gen goes on the weaker hardware of the xbone will start to show some cracks.

This is the same thing they tried with GWL there is nothing innovative about it.
It wont be four year, this gen will not be like last gen, both console have maybe 2 years left. Pervious console gens were 5-6 years last gen was unusally long because of the world recession and the hardware was pretty high tech for the time.
Nintendo is starting Next gen with the NX Sony and Xbox have already confirmed work has begun on gen 10 systems so 2018-2019 at thw lastest. I confident in saying Ps5 will be annouced spring 2018 and launch fall 2018.
No you segment the market further than it is and create the same problems PC has. Pc owner A has a top of the line graphics card and CPU but maybe 10% of games a year require that. Most PC games are built to minimums because that hits the biggest part of the market. The strength of console isnt its consumer friendly plug and play (not to mention its not rocket science to swap pc parts man) its that Devs can program to one set up and get the most out of it and know it will just work.
If console want to stay around they wont.
Im not saying they will do it tomorrow but its going to happen in the next 5yrs and I dont need to read it in a story Ive been around the gaming scene long enough I can see where they are trying to lead the market.
The orginal launch of the xbone was all about trying to get console gamers used to the idea of a Steam like delivery system. This is why companies like EA, Sony and MS are pushing digital only sales of software. MS investors arent happy they are making gaming consoles...
MS investors have been trying to get MS out of the console gaming market for a long time and convince them to just sell games as a service. It seems they are winning or have won as it seem MS is headed out of the hardware market and into being just a software company. Ive been a gamer for 3 decades. I dont really want to pay for games as a service. Guess I have to find a new hobby... ugh
