The Wii motion controls werent innovative they simple caught on for all of a year. All they really did was recycle an old idea that Atari first developed in the 70's. Sega try it in the 90's. Nintendo first tried it in the 80's with the power glove.
The only place they fail in 3rd party support is the home market. They are killing it in the handheld market.

No it doesnt it simply puts the screen a few inches from your face. The Wii control "changed" the way we play and its done wonders hasnt it? No it hasnt infact almost no one uses motion controls in any game.
It was really similar to borderlands in its shooting and humor style so much so honestly it just made me want to play a new borderlands.
