If Sony had released a cheap console it make have just been trashed by the 360. The fact that it cost more in the beginning meant that it could house all the good expensive stuff for the future (Blueray,Cell whatever else made it cost like $800 to produce the first few consoles) instead of releasing A PS4 which is like the current PS3 3 years down the li...
It will be awesome and I will buy one for sure BUT...
obviously 3DS will not be like this because think about it.
3DS has 2 screens in this video only one is shown and processed... and one of the screens is 3D so that is 3 screens that the GPU needs to process for not just one.
Than its all the AI that I am guessing takes up quite a bit of processing too.
But I am sure the old DS could never process anything similar to this.
Almost all computers ALL laptops and consoles do this...
They all have thermometers in them and they all shut down if the max recommended temperature is passed.
It doesn't mean the problem is solved because for example my laptops max temperature is around 90C yet if it always runs at 85C it will eventually overheat and burn something.

imo that is what this whole thing looks like.
Obviously they do the same job but the PS Move is more accurate and offers more directions of control.
