Well, unless they completely rewrite the script, re-record the dialogue, and basically remake the game from scratch, it's still going to be a laughably bad interactive storytelling experience, just in higher resolution.
I like a lot of Jazz, but I don't like Trash Jazz, so I have to disagree with the sentiments of this article. The music in 3D World is Trash Jazz, and it drove me nuts.
I bought an Xbone last month and was happy to be able to get Guacamelee and Max, but this month's games were just terrible. Hopefully they return to form next month.
More games is better than practically no games, so yeah, I think it would benefit. Based on their recent track record, I'd also argue that Nintendo's library of GCN (and even Wii) titles are considerably better than their actual Wii U games. If they were to do HD remakes of Metroid Prime, Mario Sunshine, Mario Galaxy, Eternal Darkness, and Twilight Princess, my top 5 Wii U games would all be HD remakes. That's sad, but again, more games is better than no games.
I'd love to see a new 3D platformer on the PS4, but if they can't get Crash, I'd be just as happy to get a brand new IP.
For the sake of all things good, don't click the clickbait.
You're certainly doing a lot of projecting. There is nothing romantic about my view of journalism, and I challenge you to explain how you came to that conclusion based purely on the content of my post. I just see very little difference between the majority of articles I see on gaming sites when compared to fairly well written blogs or message board posts in forums. The only difference is that one pretends to be something that it isn't.
These types of comment sections are certainly a cesspool, and I generally cringe when I actually take the time to read them.
But I also have to laugh at the idea of "videogame journalists". There are maybe three actual journalists in the industry, and literally thousands upon thousands of glorified bloggers who ostensibly make a living with click-bait articles based on content they gathered from a press release or some other source they had nothing to do with.
Great game. Really loved it on PS3. But I'm not too excited about the fact that those of us who bought the digital version and the DLC get no discount on the PS4 version. It's not the end of the world, but I'll be renting this one for now, and will likely pick it up when it can be had for $20.
It's hard to get excited about a QD game, because no matter how great some elements might be, it will still be spoiled by David Cage's terrible writing and complete inability to tell a coherent story.
That's interesting coming from a developer whose latest game didn't contain a single interesting mission...
Pretty much.
It's amazing that people still think that gimmicky control methods are needed for innovation. There will be a lot of innovative games this gen, and I guarantee you that less than 5-10% of them will rely on motions or touch screen controls. Innovation comes through great game design, not force feeding gimmicks.
Not a fan of the visuals, but it looks fun. 5 or 6 more quality exclusives and a $100 price drop and the Xbone might be worth a purchase for me.
I'm sure this game will have its fans, but after reading up on it I have to say that it just reminds me why I don't play many JRPGs anymore. Definitely doesn't appeal to my tastes, but the more games the merrier, I guess.
The "Souls" series has become pretty well known and valuable in its own right. Based on name recognition alone, it would be weird for them to not call this game Demon's Souls 2, or some other variation of Souls (hopefully not Beast Souls, which sounds awful), as it would instantly appeal to a large fan base. That said, I also like the idea of new game that branches off a bit from the Souls formula. Either way, the game will almost certainly be awesome with Miyazaki at the hel...
I thought the same thing the second I saw the photo.
This is one of the most delusional and out of touch blogs I've ever seen posted on this site.
I think all of the PS4's first-party titles so far could have used quite a bit more time in development, and I'm hoping that the second round of titles from Sony feel more polished. I get that they needed to release something in the launch window, but Killzone, Knack, and Infamous all felt a little half-baked to me. There are plenty of 3rd party titles to hold us over, so I just hope Sony gives their own titles the time they need to truly be great.
The "next-gen" doesn't start with a cross-generation game. There have been nice looking games, but I'm still waiting for a PS4/Xbone game to really blow me away on all levels. The Witcher 3 or Bloodborne look like they might be the first games to really take a step forward, unless Sunset Overdrive manages to exceed Insomniac's prior works.
As far as Mordor being a GotY contender, I don't think it belongs in the same breath as Dark Souls 2, but of co...
