I'm not going to speak to the games quality, but 24 hours (and on a Saturday) is more than enough time to get a feel for whether you like a game or not. The average gamer, who spends much of his weekend playing games anyways, could easily have put in anywhere between 4-10 hours into the game.
Really enjoying the game, but this has been my biggest gripe. I noticed early on that I accidentally sold a ton of bestiary items because they were in "valuables". The game has too much asinine loot as it is without having to manage what is essentially the "junk" tab. This needs a patch asap.
The article is actually spreading misinformation. The only special thing you got if you were opted-in to e-mails was an e-mail detailing your XBL activity. YOU DID NOT have to be opted-in to receive the "gift basket". I opted out but still received the gift.
Anyway, the gifts weren't great. Even if you really did have to opt-in to receive them (which again, you do NOT), I don't think it's worth it. Always better to opt-out in my opinion.
Well to be fair this site might as well be called clickbait.com.
Hey, at least I'm old enough to not take this **** personally.
A smart person realizes it only takes one idiot...
One of the biggest disappointments in the last 10+ years of gaming is that people are actually buying these things.
You can increase the difficulty almost immediately upon starting the game...
True enough. I bought the PS4 at launch and I can't say I've been disappointed, but that is solely due to multiplats. Sony's exclusives on the PS4 have been utterly forgettable.
Edit: Not surprising on n4g to get dislikes for being critical of Sony. But are there any real gamers out there who were impressed with Knack, Killzone, Infamous, and Driveclub? I can't imagine a more derivative and less imaginative line up of titles for a launch year.
Whoever wrote this article is a tremendous pussy.
The game is a disaster. No number of delays would have changed that. When a game is as awful as Sonic Boom, the right thing to do is to stop production and just start over on something else. But of course, this is a tie-in with the show, so it was going to come out no matter what. What sucks is that the game will still sell a respectable number of copies simply because it's a Sonic game.
So long as David Cage continues to write the scripts, Quantic Dream will continue to disappoint anyone expecting a truly immersive and compelling interactive story. There is a lot to like about QD's games, but David Cage keeps ruining them with his ham-fisted schlock.
I'm fairly new to the site so I can't tell if this is a recent change or if it has always been a cesspool. Either way, it seems like less of a place to come for gaming news and more of a place to come and gripe.
Not sure if it's a "complete disaster", but I've been unable to put my PS4 is standby since the update, since it refuses to turn back on if I do. Not a disaster, but also pretty unacceptable, and just one more reason I don't have complete confidence in Sony's hardware/network.
Also, there wasn't much added in this update that really did much for me. All I want is folders.
The characters and plot in The Evil Within are just awful, but that's fine. I play horror games for the gameplay and atmosphere, and while an intriguing and subtle plot is nice, it's not necessary. The Evil Within absolutely nails it with the settings, and the gameplay is a perfect mix of action, resource management, and stealth/run for your life moments. I only wish that the whole game could have maintained the perfection that is Chapter 3, but still, I can't complain. A few bad ...
Man, I thought AC felt like a tech demo, or at the very least an unfinished product. AC2 always felt like the game that the original AC should have been. I agree that 2007 was a great year, but for me, AC was the big disappointment of 2007.
I don't doubt this to be true. But I also don't doubt that it will be just as tedious, monotonous, and tiresome as Ubisoft's other open world games. They clearly have a template they use in order to churn them out regularly, and unfortunately every time I play one I feel like I've been tricked into doing someone's chores.
Can't argue with his take on the story and characters, which were terrible. But I loved the gameplay and the design of the environments, and that matters to me a lot more than story when it comes to gaming.
Can't say I have much regard for Giant Bomb or their scoring standards. Definitely not as good as it should have been, but The Evil Within is still an above average videogame. The story and characters are awful, but the environments, challenge, and mixture of stealth, action, and resource management more than made up for it. In many ways it made me lament what has been lost in gaming over the last 10 years. The Evil Within doesn't try to be a movie and it doesn't hold your hand. I...
Because 1) it is a far better game and 2) the bugs don't' break the game.
