As usual, I look at article in hope of seeing something that at least attempts to being a serious discussion on the future of gaming hardware. And, as usual, it's full of fanboy posts. What a shame
VR is the future of gaming,I agree. Next gen will show this to be true,imo.
If MS bow out of the console business they will still remain a hugely profitable company. Sony, would suffer enormously if they did the same. That's the difference, and it shows. Sony invests so much in the industry, because their profits rely on it being successful in this area. MS, are playing. I like my Scorpio edition, it has some great features, but MS need to try much harder or they will ultimately, fail ! SoD2 and SoT, look great, but we need more.
Sony has so much investment in the video game industry as compared to MS, that you just know the PS5 will be an awesome machine. And like it or not, MS releasing the X1X will push Sony to greater things. My view is next gen will be very much the first generation of 'proper' VR, and likely led by Sony. Just my opinion, other opinions do exist.
Thing is, consoles outperform PC's easily in terms of efficiency. In terms of raw power, obviously not. Bottomline for console owners is they get more bang for their buck. PC's gamer get far more power overall, but it's a case of diminishing returns. The REAL WORLD difference between a high end PC GPU and a Leading edge GPU isn't a significant as many would have us believe, when it comes to playing games, and not just looking at benchmarks. PSVR, although extremely primitive, is a smart move by Sony in the longer term. Sony is gaining valuable experience in this field, where MS is leaving R&D to others. Ultimately, I believe Sony's foresight, although expensive, will deliver next gen. I'm convinced Sony will release PS5 with VR in mind, and this time it will be powerful enough to deliver. Just my opinion, other opinions do exist.
SOD2 looks good. And it's four player co-op. I'm looking forward to both SOD2 and Days gone.

We don't know the full facts, and we probably never will. What we do know is that lot's of people will suffer as a result of a stupid 'prank'. Very sad.

Never rely on a single source of information. N4G is fun, but can be extremely toxic. Both sides of the house should agree with that. If you genuinely want a feeling for how it's being received,look around.
Many people in advertising don't achieve their ambitions through integrity and professionalism. Like many other industries, having the original idea counts for very little. That remains true regardless of whether MS have 'stolen' someones idea. If it's on the internet, or even just on your PC, then people have viewed it. I encrypt everything I wish to keep private, and don't use MS encryption. Something like Veracrypt may do.
Well, that's not strictly true, is it? They haven't communicated the MT system yet. In fact they have actively avoided doing so.
Early on, I did have reservations, but I do like the concept and have consequently placed a tentative pre-order while I continue to monitor player reports. I just hope there are many and varied enemies to fight while searching for treasure. Combat looks fun, but a lack of variety could kill it. The co-op nature looks cool, but again, there needs to be plenty of variety otherwise the art style and creativity will count for nought if it gets boring. Here's hoping.
I don't align myself with any company, certainly not MS or Sony,but as a punter I can tell you why I purchased a X1X.
1) Open library of games from previous consoles, that's good for a gamer.
2) The power to run high quality games (Not saying other consoles can't)
3) I'm a collector, of sorts.
4) SoD2, and now, Sea of thieves appeal to me more than other games -potentially. (Not to say I don't want games for other consoles)

Erm, I'm not saying they are wrong, because frankly, I don't care that much. It does seem strange however, that while many devs say X1X GPU is equiv to more powerful cards, it's this story that garners all the attention? Whatever.
If you like being locked into a particular brand or console, then exclusives are fine. If you prefer more choice then they are not. Windows or Linux ?
