Why would they change Dead Space's engine to Frostbite 2? For marketing reasons probably. Personally, I think it is a horrible mistake. Why put the extra burden on the developers. There goes extra resources and more headaches. Dead Space is great the way it is. More Dead Space is what I want. I could give a shit about the Frostbite 2 engine. It is nothing special in my opinion and grossly over-hyped.

I agree wholeheartedly with Jaffe. I can appreciate a decent story, quality voice acting, and good writing, but anyone claiming to be emotionally involved in a game's story is full of shit. This is how gamers talk when they need to justify why they play video games.
Even those games that are considered to have a good story (like Uncharted) should be only mediocre in movie form. Video game movies suck for a reason. It's not the reason many like to believe though.
I haven't bought a Sony product (other then the PS3) since 1995.
The company has not been in touch with reality for well over a decade. They are not Apple. They can not ask premium dollars for products nobody is asking for.

Is it that hard for people to realize how bullshit this so-called award show is. Every top game received an award in one category or another. They spread it around to make everyone happy and secure all those exclusive trailers. It's a show focused on marketing and games not even out yet.
