Microsoft has moved on from Xbox One I believe. As for Sony, they have always supported their previous consoles years later into the next gen. I think after this year, more developers will start to make current gen only games. Development for last gen systems has never stopped all at once when a new gen starts and this one is no different.

A big reveal would consist of getting one or more of their already announced games on shelves in 2022. Letting another year go by without big budget releases and you start to wonder if Microsoft has learned anything from their disastrous XboxOne days.
I just want the next Virtua Fighter, Jet Set Radio, and Panzer Dragoon Game from Sega.
I think PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 got a No More Heroes game but it only released in Japan if I recall.
I have the Metal Gear Solid HD collection from a few years ago and I still have the PlayStation 2 versions of mgs2/3. Wish Konami would get their act together they have so many great ips that are just wasting away .
I’m loving see this series return. I went out and bought Valkyrie Profile 2 just because of this announcement. It may look and play different from what I’m used to from a VP game, but I would expect that given it’s been a long time since the last one. I know I’ll be getting it in hopes that more games from the past get revisited by the studios who have forgotten them.
Don’t forget about Namco Bandai and their redesigned logo appearing on box art soon. It could be a three-way battle for that coveted award lol.

I would love for those ps3 rumors of backwards compatibility to be real. To be able to fire up Resistance and Killzone on the PS5. I feel that would be a good counter move to the Microsoft/Activision deal. And if they perform well enough, it might convince Sony to make more.
Hopefully Microsoft stays away from adding any beloved Japanese studios who began be creating games on Nintendo and Sony consoles. For me, that would really be a kick in the teeth. To think one day, the games we grew loving and playing would be no longer available on our preferred console of choice.
