$1000 is more than enough for 1080p @60 in most games. You only need a good CPU and a kick-ass gpu (or 2 if you trust in sli working). Other components don't have to be that high end.
BF4 FHD@60 I can't comment on, as it isn't out yet.
I was talking only about the graphics... I haven't played it full so can't comment on the other aspects of the game.
I just wanted to say 1440p or not, graphic-wise it still looks like a console-port.

1440p looks sweeter, but it's not suddenly the best game ever (based on what i played of the demo). Still buying it as I like the setting and didn't get a chance of playing it on consoles.
BUT pre-alpha build is coming this thursday 29th. You can't do much yet, but by the end of the year you'll be able to dogfight in arena-like space combat.
edit: Oculus support is coming soon as well
is there any news on when the consumer edition will out?

Totally agree, most games with GOTY are games in the hype train of that year
Actually I can (and do) play FIFA on PC with friends (and several controllers).
It runs much smoother, and everyone agrees it looks better.

I agree. I don't use my PC only for gaming.
BUT when I game I'd prefer the better solution. If SteamOS+mantle is as good as it sounds then I'll double boot.
