I am a Pro Evo fan,but the truth is it hasn't evolved on HD consoles yet. What more,Fifa09 will be 30% faster and more responsive this year which definitely puts it above PES now.
Carmack's abilities to develop great game engines,but I do question most other things he says about the Gaming Industry. It seems he still has not acknowledged the necessity to develop differently to get more from the PS3.

Konami has not yet completed work on their new game engine. I am confident they will by next year and they will or should take the crown again. However,Fifa 09 is progressing at a great speed.
Also,true gamers buy both and don't hate for nothing. Is it so hard to believe that Fifa is finally better?

Really,look at how ironic it is. Just when the PS3 is hitting its stride and apparently delivering the games on time, the 360 seems now to be suffering from multiple delays.
Off the top of my head I can think of Huxley and Alan Wake and Fable 2 and Halo Wars and Too Human and there must be some others. Ah well,better push the game's date than have a rushed project.

I think the Playstation brand is trying to cater for even more 'core' gamers first and catch up in North America whih explains certain decisions concerning the profligation of specific genres.
