I will be honest, I am not so happy about my PS5 purchase, I didn't enjoy a lot of the exclusives that Sony have been making since the launch of the console, Spiderman looks like it will be great, and I definitely hope so, I know people in here will take my words like a hater, but I didn't buy a 500$ console just to hate on it
Having this being written by Kotaku immediately makes think what if the gender was reversed, Kotaku would write a whole article about why it's harmful without linking the person who proved it's a misunderstanding, like this did with Persona 5 soundtrack
@DarXyde you only mentioned small examples meanwhile the biggest fails in modern gaming is made from a studio getting out of their comfort zone while biting more than they can chew, and again track record for the company as a whole influence people's opinion of every studio involved!
And just to be clear I am not talking about subjective stuff, like I thought Guerilla making such a big game right after killzone caused them to make a dictionary example of a assassin'...
Listen if you want people to stop assuming the worst after years of similar disappointment, you need to show them that such things don't necessarily mean a bad game, which can only be done by releasing good games
It's more than just 50/50, the problem is in the choice of the employees, talent first and then whatever comes next is second priority, you can make a full women team right now and create a fantastic game if you picked talented women that have synergy with each other, and that's what Nintendo does, you bet these 4.9% deserved their spot!
Western studios often look at how problematic you are before they look at your gender and then look at your resume, you need to fi...
Yes it's like they actually look at your political activities resume instead of your game development resume!
Nintendo have a history of hiring great women in their company, when Animal Crossing New Leaf director wanted to split the team 50/50 in gender, she hired exceptional women leading to a great game, whenever a western story hires for exclusivity it ends up in a disaster because they weren't hired for skill (which tons of western female developers have) but for political opinions!
What I am getting at is, if Nintendo keeps it 4.2 or turns it to 50, I always hope they keep...
Out of everything wrong with the XIV community, that's what you talked about, when I was playing the game for years, the community is insufferable but not even a single person complained about the fact that you roll for what you want and luck decides
what an article, not only they assumed Bolson is gay they also brought no valid example of how he improved in the sequel, and then considered Vilia trans because he cross dressed to sneak into a women only place, and then called a line explicitly gay then said it is coded... That was one hell of a read
Man I really don't like articles where the author tries to dance around their opinion and be smart about it, you want it so you get a crazy kojima game, we all do just say it
Adult themes are only encouraged when it fits what they talk about, didn't they hate the Witcher for having mature content that portrayed women in a light that they hate
Honestly it was alright, the usual pretty looking world with overly scripted encounters and dumb character banter, I would have had better hope but it's Ubisoft
I actually really love this game, the main problem however was that the entire story and personality of the characters, was in the lore that you need to dig very deep to find and external materials outside of the game, honestly it has my favorite lore in the franchise, I wish they had made the game more story focused, god it would have been a masterpiece
Women playing games have been 40% of the spectrum for almost 13 years now if you look at studies, yet everytime this subject is brought up Kotaku and other sites go the passive-aggressive route "yes women play video games, shocking right", I swear at this point they are the only ones shocked about it
Yeah man 200 years is too soft, if it's 201 then maybe close enough to permanent
I have officially entered the danger zone where I actually enjoy seeing these people getting trtiggered over nothing
I have been saying this every time there's an article about how we needed a more powerful switch for 3 years now, and I would get downvoted, everytime a lazy developer puts no effort into making a game that runs well, the switch gets blamed instead, it's not like this is the first time the switch ran a demanding game like TOTK, XC3 and MH:R Look are a technical achievement for the console, but I know when the new Nintendo console get announced and it's not a NASA computer on a han...
When I read the title I thought they mean it's tone deaf because it's another pvp shooter, that's trying it's hardest to be cool but instead they meant it's tone deaf because the game is about stealing banks and now in 2023 we have a economic crisis, do these people ever realize how horrible the scenarios in 99% of the games are, we were in Covid and TLOU2 had us kill people in the middle of apocalypse, didn't hear anyone talk about it being tone deaf!
Listen you can say you liked it without the aggressive tone!
Honestly this is show felt exactly like how I used to feel when watching a Xbox Press Conference the last two years before Covid, a good gaming show that doesn't convince you of the console in any way!
if you wanted it to be a gaming show, it was nice, we had good announcements and nice trailers, however this isn't just a gaming show this is a playstation gaming show, that was marketed to sh...
I am not in defense of characters being sexualized but the realism argument is beyond me, why does a piece of fiction need to be realistic? Let alone Mortal Kombat? What does any fictional design have to do with what's logical in the real world?
