The three greatest, IMO of course, are Goldeneye 007, Starfox, and Blast Corps.
Not everybody cares about the graphics. You can have the most visually stunning game but the game can still be a piece of shit! So the graphics don't matter. Core gameplay is where it's at. Don't need all the excess eye candy.

My biggest chore when playing a game is listening to the music. To me, music is more important than the graphics. I don't care about all the shiny objects and blah blah eye candy. Music puts you in the mood and makes you want to continue on. If a game has terrible music, then you will quickly get tired of hearing the same repeated sounds from the character/weapons/environment.
I wish this game would hurry up and come out and flop. Tired of hearing about this stupid game.

This game had soooo many bugs. Not to mention that the melee combat was so broken and horribly created. Don't even get me started on the driving portion. I think L4D beat the brakes off of Dead Island.

I like trophies but I have one disagreement that trophies and achievements share, and that is the stupid simple achievements/trophies. An example is you enter online multiplayer and you get a trophy. Kill your first enemy and get a trophy. All trophies/achievements should be worthy of achieving and not just handed to you.
What you're experiencing is the placebo effect. Nothing has changed but yet you and everyone else think a drastic improvement has been reached. haha
The ONLY Dead Space that was "scary" as you say, is Dead Space 1. 2 became too action-oriented shooter-ish and 3 just looks like a generic action shooter now.

I always refer to Seinfeld's joke he says about something being limited.
Then once the demo drops, there will be hundreds of stupid articles such as "5 things I loved about the demo" or "10 things they could have done differently".
