I got bored and saw the Movie Charts on Amazon. BD is pounding HD-DVD right now. 23 titles are in the top 100. What even worse for HD-DVD is that Shrek 3 didn't even crack the top 80. Maybe BDA didn't have to do this sale after all.
Good for consumers though. I picked up 4 movies. Now gonna wait until Bourne week and the next BOGO

I can tell you why they are doing it and I don't have to be an analyst to do it. BDA is doing it to counter Shrek 3 release on HD-DVD. They did when Transformers came out and they will do it when Bourne comes out. Good strategy.

Just letting you know. Now that profile 1.1 is out, WB will be start sending us some of the titles that require those functions. The Matrix, Batman Begins, etc will start making their way to BD soon.

I am actually waiting to see how they spin this. If this is enough, when this week's numbers come out for Ratatouille it will be even worse for HD-DVD. We shall see though.

BDA guys are smart people. They only do these sales during big HD-DVD titles. Last time this happened was during Transformers. This week is Shrek. Good for competition though.
I am gonna pick up Fifth Element, Memento, Layer Cake, and Knights. 4 BD movies for 40 bucks. Insane. Love doing blu.
What they do is they see who got sold the most. This week for example it was SM3 and they sold approx 130,000. They give that 100%. It doesn't mean that it sold all of it [Far from it. I think they shipped 400,000 copies]. They just assign it a ratio value. Then from number 2 postion to number 3 position, they give percentages of how much they sold comparison to the top position. So this week Transformers sold about 1/3 of the top position.

For the Ratatouille, Cars, etc we will have to wait till end of next week for the week ending today Nov 11th. Also you are correct, if transformers was in neutral, that would also be selling more on BD as seen by the neutral titles (300, shining, odyssey, etc.) which are selling more on BD than on HD-DVD.
