MW2 is like the farthest thing from a simulator. MW2 is your Hollywood movie esque blockbuster, it removes all realism and anything you can incorporate into real life situations, and puts in stuff that entertains.
A terrorist can't learn to kill from MW2, you use a controller or mouse to shoot...that's not proper training.....
AFAIK, Crytek had Ubisoft as their publisher, Crytek made Far Cry 1, then Crytek went to Electronic Arts, Ubisoft retained intellectual property rights to "Far Cry" and thus made Far Cry 2 and now Far Cry 3.
