Every game I've seen on the device is on rails your mostly stationary with the ability to look around and do hand gestures while everything else moves around you. I don't think it will be a gimmick in the common sense of the word but somewhere in between that and mainstream. I believe its biggest flaw comes from the huge head gear that promotes total isolation from the real world which can be dangerous in many ways.
