Well here's the thing....doom is sticking to what made the game great and that's good. But for me it dropped a notch by not including destructible environments and ballistic damage to objects. Blasting a hole through a wall to kill a bunch of imps on the other side would have been sick. Or a shoot out with a marine turned demon John woo style running and gunning for each other in a room full of stuff flying around from bullets flying would have really upped the awesomeness of this gam...
Yes indeed what a travesty 6 was. I noticed the decline on 5. The last great resident evil for me was 4. With my favorites being 1 and 3 because of nemesis.
I did enjoy operation raccoon city. More action oriented but since it was a side story about umbrellas mercenaries and soldiers it was acceptable. Raid modes and mercenaries is cool. But like you said if they brought back the true "survival horror" formula and cleaned up the story, and created some new zombie ideas for 7...
Doom looks awesome and will be a must buy for me. But calling it the best fps seen in years is a stretch. Especially since the game is not out yet. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. High expectations is a killer.

I dunno....an 8 seems kind of high....after clearing Brooklyn and downtown Manhattan this game seems mediocre to me and boring most of the time. The dark zone is kind of fun but can't shake the feeling that the game is just a good time waster. Wish I could at least have a motorcycle to travel long distances after respawning miles away from an objective. I don't agree. Disc needs to always be an option. It's convenient to have a digital copy but it's not really yours. Unlike a disc that could become a collectors item. And you don't need Internet if you delete it from the drive. So it's stupid to say disc are stupid. Iam getting a hard copy of doom just for the cool sleeve can't get that with a digital copy.
