most of them have similarities but I think the best example of UE versatility is Lost Odyssey and a bunch of mods on the pc where they look nothing like Gears or UT3
DC Universe and Global Agenda don't look very "unreal" the same with Mirrors Edge

The best way would be for there to be some type of vote at probably the Game Developers Conference. They are the closet thing we have to the Academy for the oscars
actually if you've followed the game, they have put a huge amount of time into the story and have been pimping it ever since it was announced and also they have said that they are making the game soloable and as the same as kotor, it will have companion/party characters that serve as they did in the kotor games.
Pretty much this seems to be the mmo that actually cares about the story as much as gameplay which probably wasn't very hard since they took a traditional app...

Nexon is huge and I've tried some of their free mmos
they are good but still aren't at the level of wow or most other pay to play mmos but if a f2p company were to approach blizzard quality it would be nexon but i don't see them getting to same level of quality since they just churn out games and don't put in as much detail into the games
Vindictus looks great but outside of combat, I don't know if it will have the hooks that wow has
if they had games that had good stories than they would win by default but right now they are probably the closest.
Also the article talks about how hard they work and there philosophies which according to them is basically the same so even though Blizzard can't churn out new games and ips every year, they are according to pixar the closest thing to them from their experience in the gaming industry.

mostly everything is keyed so that it only fits in one thing the right way and upgrading 1 1/2 years is only if you skimped on the graphics card and care to really max everything out.
