That mgs is normally the trend starter for sony´s console domination. However several things are different this time around lets see if hideo is able to bring it up again. Guys everyone knows that if you focus on one platformn the results in general are much better than if ported thats why hideo chose to only work on the ps3 because he can make a better game that way.
1)MGS 94 ---- original splinter Cell 93(giving the highest score average multiplatform much lower): Pretty decent MGs won
2)MGS2 96 ---- Splinter Cell PT(giving highest score average multiplatform much lower) 93
MGs won again by a larger margin
3)MGS3 94---- Splinter Cell CT (giving highes score average multiplatform much lower) 94
Closest one its a tie although if averaged you get the picture

Is to have a better storyline with that it could snatch the throne for best action game from God of War.
Still waiting to be amazed, then again why do i bother everywhere in the world will get shafted again with this update since its probably gonna be US exclusive like all the other interesting xboxlive features.

Its a good game but as i stated before if this beats mario galaxy cod4 or halo 3 ill be amazed.
But by the way 360 fanboys were talking about it, some of them must feel outright dissapointed its a shame it hasnt receive much media attention it could have sold a lot better.
Edit: I didnt say it needed to be a blockbuster i just said that the quality of the game deserves to be apreciated by more people. I thinks its a great game not the second coming of Mario but a great game.
I am a ps3 fan but in reality non of the ps3 games made a splash so as to deserve game of the year. The real candiddates are:
Halo3
SMG
Bioshock
Cod4
Why no mass effect? the fact that it got mixed reviews for those that try to deny it ill remember you guys the 7 from edge and the 6 from pc reviews. Its a great game an excellent western rpg but game of the year no way in hell.

Is he still undecided if they are gonna be crap or not. The only one in that list that could really suck and dissapoint is killzone but it is entirely dependant on how much satisfying the gameplay (offline with the ai and online with modes and vehicles) is since by the tech demo so far we know graphics and animations are so far living up to the hype for most. LBP even nintendo wants it so its a sucess regardless, MG and FF have proven themselves time and time again as games loved by some hate...
But we cant judge a game before it comes out. As much as i think the next SC is gonna be crap from what i been hearing we cant say its gonna bomb and the same can be said for the other games. By actually giving us lower expectations they are in a better standing point ffor when they finally launch.

The best in the series has alaways been disputed between 6 and 7, for most 6th had a better storyline but the gameplay mechanics and minigames (such as chocobo breeding) of 7 compensated since the story was never that far behind. Another thing that tend to give ff7 the title for most gamers is its varied areas such as underwater. FF3 was a good game but it has nothing to be remembered for, neither the story nor the gameplay were impressive, 8th on the other hand although the storyline was ...
And i expect it to at least last a year before they discontinue it.
They all offer different layouts making it effectively 5 new maps and a new vehicle plus nightime engagements which is pretty decent for 10 bucks or less (my guess is also 7.99) in my opinion much better than 3 maps as you imply.

It will eventually happen although i doubt it, squarenix is one of those companies that regardless of what system they develope for theyll get a profit. I am sure even cellphones will fly off the shelves when the ff13 component hits.

The only other contender for a great rpg is fallout 3 but for some reason i dont expect it to be too good. If you called me a fanboy because i thought 2 exclusive rpgs for the ps3 could be the only ones to break the oblivion record then prove me wrong and tell me which rpgs for the 360 can do it?
