Most of what he over-hypes seems to be when he's caught off guard and put in front of a huge audience who want's something innovative.
Although without him we'd probably never have bought Fable 2 in the first place. Not sure if that's a good thing or not...
Hell, VIDEO GAMES are overrated.. Doesn't stop me loving them. :p
I'd love to have both an Xbox and a PS3 so I could get more out of my gaming and experience these "overrated" games myself. A broader spectrum is always a good move. It's just that the price point of the PS3 has always been a huge problem for me. Whereas buying little bits to add onto my Xbox, like the wifi adaptor and bigger HDDs has worked out well for me. Although I will certainly admit...
@ King
Well at least they said "re-invented" rather than invented.
Fable 2 felt quite good when I played it, but looking back now I can't remember anything good about it. One of the bits I enjoyed the most was buying up entire towns and making a profit off that. Which is weird considering that it had nothing to do with the actual story or main gameplay.
You know they fixed RROD by taking out the Red lights and replacing it with an error message on scren, right? I assume they tried to fix the problem as WELL but still.
As for kinect, the little black bar will probably warm up quite a lot while on, considering the size and power inside it. The camera can twist and tilt on it's stand to track people anyway so without enough ventilation it may well just knock itself over.
I'm sure people will work out no...
So who's your internet service provider then?
Goddamnit I sneezed and hit disagree. >_< I meant agree, I promise.
Oh yeah. That was really crap. Plus, no Henchmen. I think that was confirmed though.
The only thing I think needs to be changed to quell the retardedness comming from this site is that I don't think Ems actually ever mentioned the fact that she was playing Fable 2 in the article. Should have been opening paragraph stuff.
I shall send this on to MicroSonyTendo at ONCE!
There were typos? o-o Wow. I read them but I didn't see any typos. Wouldn't surprise me though.
Imagine trying to analyse and write up about it only having people scream, "NO UR RONG" at you once you're done.
This is the reason I wanted to write this set of articles. I didn't want people to have to read through an entire agreement just to find out what can happen to them if they try something stupid. I totally appreciate not wanting to read the ToU. It's so god-damn BORING. But I said I'd do it, so I'm doing it.
Took me a few minutes before I had to dash off to a party. Glad it was enjoyed. xD
That doesn't make it any more morally right. I'm going to Uni to study Games Design by the end of the month, so I kinda have to say this but if you're modding, you're stealing from people, usually good people who have put around three quarters of a year of their time into creating something for you to enjoy. Modding and piracy doesn't have huge effect on the sales or the total revenue really, but if there weren't measures in place to stop this from happening, we wouldn...
I was really more trying to illustrate the power that Microsoft has when it comes to what they can do to your console that explain the rules. Yes, most of it is dead obvious, but the little bits hidden deep inside the ToU agreements that you don't tend to even consider reading through before accepting can be fatal to your console. Let alone it's resale value.
Not sure that the length of the campaign really matters considering the huge amount of other stuff thrown in there. While I would love more story, (Is a Halo Lore living encyclopedia) the game has serious longevity with Firefight, Forge World and competitive multiplayer. Not to mention the opportunity to use matchmaking for almost all of the game. (Minus Forge and Theatre)
Then again, that explains the 9.5.
Were it supporting physical media as well as digital I think it could have done well. However I think the PSP go's failure speaks for itself. Digital only just allows publishers to be greedy and overcharge while buying from stores creates competition. I don't see people paying for this for long.
I hate to say it but most people don't look much less like an idiot when playing with a normal controller. Especially a Wii controller.
The games really aren't aimed at the hardcore audience as I'm sure has been established by now. They are still fun to play with family or friends, but I wouldn't see myself playing Kinect Adventures without anyone else. That'd just be sad. Joyride could be a good solo or online play game however. I'm also a huge Sonic ...
I don't see the fact that you need to use more energy to use Kinect as a bad point. I loved the amount of effort I had to put into playing the games with Kinect. It felt much more satisfying than flinging my arms around and hoping I knocked out some low-detail Mii.
I will be keeping my eye out for any Move preview events around the UK however. Although most of my reason for possibly getting a PS3 will be Blu-ray and Little Big Planet 2
I really didn't...
Did you get Portal? I assume not thinking about it.. (PS3 version wasn't great, hope for a good Portal 2. Gabe's hyping the crap out of that.) I paid around £40 or £50 total on my copies (yes, multiple) of Portal. I can run that game in 45 minutes and my first playthrough only took me 3 hours or so.
Games should not be priced by their length but by the experience. To say £45 is too much for 5 hours is moronic as 5 hours could be the best time of your li...
