I was thinking an update could just convert the points to cash. IMO the bigger problem is the retailers that have points stock.

But IMO the Wiimote for Wii was seen as really futuristic and almost like virtual reality to casuals *relative* to what came before it. Easy Pick up and play social fun, human and computer interaction was mind blowing from 6 year olds to grandma & grandpa.

Obviously MSFT could murder the 360's competition with a Price drop but keeping the 360's price up so high this late in the game suggests the balance between price and consumer interest allows milking of the console price and sales are just at the right spot for building up for a massive hit MSFT will take from the 720's hardware being much more advanced(expensive) than the 360's.

This trend has more to do with the direction of technology and what consumers expect with their hard earned cash. You either support this direction or die.
