I've always said no to this question, in fact I think I have already commented on this article saying that, but... I've done some research into mobile gaming and I was blown away by what I found. Console quality games on phones, like Dead Trigger 2. Also Nvidias conference on tegra 4, 5 and 6 was mind blowing. Mobile is the future and I know this now. Check out the youtube channel ReviewtechUSA, he explains how mobile and tablet gaming will be the future and about the death of console...

That's probably the best prediction I've read of what gaming will be like in 10 years time after Xbox One and PS4. I was thinking something similar about Nintendo leading console market in the future as they are likely to stick with physical media and your predictions are good because Sony president has said that the Playstation brand will be more like a service in the future as opposed to hardware and with PS Plus ad what is happening with Xbox live they are really ding the whole sub...
Well said. I agree. I am a console gamer and I understand that high end PCs will always outperform XBOX One or PS4 for graphics, frame rate, resolution and just general raw power but I'm okay with that. I can't afford a bleeding edge gaming PC and I'm happy with a £350 console with inferior specs. I like the console experience. That PCs get better over time is great for gamers and so is release of new consoles so in everyones best interests that hardware moves forward :)

I only ever buy physical copies of games and I don't think digital downloads are the future as game file sizes are getting larger generally. Nothing like owning the box and disc.
