I thought the whole point of PC gaming was that you could upgrade your components as you see fit or that it was open, supported mods....etc.

I don't think inFamous 3 is a good idea......I'd love a new IP. Or maybe even a linear inFamous game. The open-world nature of inFamous sounds fun at first but once you beat the game, there is nothing to do...

Desperate. I'm not defending Call of Duty in any way, but the only "proof" we have of this is some analysts predictions, which are always wrong. They've been wrong every single year about Call of Duty, no reason they would be right now.
The $600 launch price and lots of other factors had a permanent effect on the Sony's marketshare.
Next-gen when the PS4 launches at a similar(maybe lower) price point than the next Xbox I'd say they would be in a good position to reclaim all territories.
