The WiiU is a great console to own. I admit it would sit most comfortably as a second console, with a PS4 for future & WiiU for exclusives, local multiplayer and console specific features. I have so much fun with it, with my family and friends. Some of the games I own are multi platform titles, they're just better on WiiU.
I regularly play these as multyplayer:
Nintendoland
Game & Wario
Rayman Legends
Wii Party U

They previously said that Darkstalkers Ressurection's sales were too low to warrant a true sequel. It is such a shame as I think DS would do better with modern fighting games than it did when the originals launched, if only Capcom could have some faith in their heritage franchises.
It seems really interesting this game and I'm not a fan of the Elder Scrolls games. The fact that they're using a realistic setting as opposed to a fantasy one is a great quality. I find the publishers dragon comments to be very funny. When did it become a prerequisite to add dragons to all games? I admit, FIFA & Call of Duty could be improved with the fire breathers but to dismiss this game for the lack of them seems very foolish.
I do agree with most of what you say. He did over step the mark, that's why I posted the article. I don't like the way so many guys in the gaming industry make us men look so bad. We're not all terrible at treating people right. There are people I can engage with in a much more liberal manner than others but there's always a limit. Looking at the conversation, she wasn't interested in his very direct advances.
It's tough because you don't know what kind of relationship the two had. There are people who can exchange that dialogue between each other, & there are those who can't. I'd be interested to see her feelings on this.
It's easy to be cynical with these types of bold statements, I always am. I'm sure the figureheads of IO mean every word they say here, it's just hard to stick to your guns when you have any AAA game. The publishers will always have a big say in what the finished game is & Square Enix will want it accessible. Over the past few years we've seen dozens of critically acclaimed games not sell. Let's hope they can stick to making the game they want to & not the game a p...
I have only played a few RPGs this generation, I think in a lot of ways the modernisation of the genre had alienated me. My favourite ever RPG is Suikoden II, that's why I backed Soul Saga on Kickstarter. It listed Suikoden in its 'inspired by' section. There's a few nice looking games on that list, I think Child of Light looks really cool.
I know this statement is obvious, but I'm really looking forward to playing this. I'm very interested in seeing more from this world. There are times when DLC is worthwhile, this is due out 9 months after the games release and most who played it will want more.
The previous gen sales were not only down due to next gen bliss. The market is in a funny transition period as a result of the next gen consoles but GTA V ate up a lot of other video games in its launch & general disinterest in the later installments of CoD, AC IV, etc left many gamers bitter. I know lots of people are thinking they'll get the next gen machine in 6-12 months, after a price drop or a killer app hits. This process may gave contributed to lower sales but the retail marke...
The 3DS was in a terrible slump at launch & had a very bleak future. After a price drop and in 2013 it had one of the greatest software lineups any calender has seen. I hope the WiiU can do the same thing, it isn't an impossibility. It is less accessible than the 3DS but like you say, it offers a unique experience that no other console offers.
The WiiU is a really good console that I've had a lot of fun with. If you look at the games available for it, there's a very low amount of rubbish. Most of its titles are of a high quality. It has a plethora of issues that make it a hard sell to people but when you get your hands on it, it's a great console. I've played a lot more of it than my PS4 since owning the new sony platform. People often say a console is only as good as it's games, the WiiU isn't doing so badl...
Glad to hear a great director state this. He may be biased due to Platinum Games exclusives on the WiiU but I value his word.
I agree with your lack of desire or interest to make time. I know we afford time to things that others don't & prioritise to befit our own agendas. I just think games are a harder sell as a pastime than most other mainstream hobbies.
I have been a Devil May Cry fan from day one, I also happen to think DmC was fantastic! Capcom really lost there way in the latter half of the PS360 gen. If they'd have developed DMC 5, I don't think they'd have done it right. Ninja Theory probably gave us a better game. The series is in an awkward spot now, I doubt they'll sequel DmC but following up from DMC 4's story would be odd now.
Hmmmm, I guess it couldn't be worse than X-2.
I don't get Square-Enix, why don't they put resources into things people want? I know X-3 would sell in Japan & have ok numbers in the west but they could make money & people smile if they used their heads. The VII remake isn't happening anytime soon, even though it'd sell faster than anything they've released in a decade(for the record, I don't think it needs remaking, but it wouldn't stay on shop ...
There's some validity to this write up. It's not for everyone but it doesn't do much wrong.
I live in the UK & there our national average Internet speeds are lower than the suggested minimum. I'll be interested in seeing more info on this service & how they intend to roll it out globally.
Although I do understand the writers point if view, I think the timeline is necessary for the overall story of the series. There is so much stuff going on in the Zelda universe & the fact that they're all separate tales in a long plot is great. Although the theory of them being the retelling of fables had crossed many of our minds, the revelation of 3 separate post Ocarina timelines made sense.
***Wind Waker Spoiler ahead!***
In the case of Wind Wake...
I sure know I'm ready for it! It is strange that Sega haven't done a HD collection. The games that lost them so much money could recoup loads from a HD port & that would be a relatively cheap thing to do.
I think the question of living up to fan expectation is a very solid point. I have played The first game through around 5 times & the second twice, I do still utterly love the experience (writing this is making me want to play it now). It was such a bold gam...
Nintendoland is arguably the best local multiplayer to hit the scene in years! There are games based on lots of the main Nintendo franchises. With a mix of single player, co-op & competitive play, there's a big chunk of game there. I'd say it's a must for any Wii U owner, it's much deeper than it first appears.
