You can play PlayStation Plus games offline (bar online multiplayer ones of course), done that on both my Vita & PlayStation 3.
In in the same boat, still need to master Street Fighter 4, Virtua Fighter 5 Showdown & Dead or Alive 4, not to mention countless other games.
Honestly, one of the best games ever made. Can't recommend it enough.

I think PS4 will outsell PS3's first year. It's $200/£100 cheaper, is being sold before Xmas & has a far stronger line up with strong 3rd party support. I can't imagine it not selling.
The Splinter Cell game is actually the one from Black Tusk Studios I believe.
Nintendo have no doubt brought a lot of this on themselves, but it's still unfair a large proportion of the game is stripped away for Wii U owners.
Why should Wii U owners pay the same price for a game when parts of it are removed? Publishers are basically assisting in the consoles demise.
Well it is, rendering a few clouds on a server probably takes more time & effort than rendering it on the original machine. What's the point?
The amount of effort & resources needed to render a few clouds on a server may as well be done I the client side. It's pointless.
The prices were/are exactly the same as Xbox 360. Anyone thinking Microsoft was suddenly gonna turn into Steam is delusional.
The latency difference is 2 nanoseconds between DDR3 & GDDR5, bandwidth is 2 1/5 times larger though. For graphics & gaming, bandwidth is king, especially with the CPU's using out of order execution (making latency even less of an issue).
It's nice to be excited by new technology, but if the software just leads to a creative cul de sac (as it did with the original Kinect), what's the point?
I find it very bizarre that people are excited by Kinect 2, the first Kinect didn't have a quarter of things promised & probably had the worst software for any system in existence (bar the excellent Dance Central). I think it's gonna be a hard sell to the mass market this time round.

It's difficult to explain, but compute is a way to program the graphics processing unit to do traditional CPU tasks. (Graphics cards have far more cores then central processing units). It'll allow far superior physics, particle effects & ai than currently possible.
