I played both. This year everything was so close in quality it was hard to decide what to put into the list, let alone choose the winner!
NOOOO! Split-screen co-op is NOT dying! I come from South Africa and in 3rd world countries like ours, the console install base is large but our internet infrastructure is rubbish. So having a split-screen function usually makes or breaks a game in many ways to a consumer. Plus there's no replacing a buddy on the same couch as you jamming Gears or Resistance.
Haha! Well i respectfully disagree... Isn't that just about every mainstream game?! From CoD, FIFA to Darksiders?

Castlevania JUST fell short of this list. I got horribly addicted to that game. Like crack, in a castle. In vania.

Dude, as a reviewer, I'm SO tired of the mediocre. FU2 was just that: Dull and mediocre. I wanna see love and pride in developers games. These days, for the most part, profit margins and short term profits are far more important than quality and love in a game. This needs to change fast...

I really don't understand what all this GT5 vs Forza 4 fighting is about. Isn't it awesome that we can get 2 awesome sim games as opposed to one? They have different features that separate the two games and put them in their own categories, giving them a distinct flavour, so why not enjoy both dishes of tasty car goodness?!
Ye, it definitely runs full 1080p. I have both a PS3 and a 360. they are both strong consoles.

Excellent contender. I feel really upset about leaving Fallout: New Vegas and RDR out of this list. Wish there were more categories.
As great as Fifa11 and PES2011 were, the improvements in terms of content weren't large enough to warrant the award. These type of games suffer from losing longevity by alienating a large amount of players and having a generally unimpressive online modes.
