Yeah, what Pirate Thom said.. There's really no excuse for your level of ignorance ,Sam. Not with all the info and gameplay vids on the net that prove otherwise.
Okay, first of all , the QTE's in Heavy Rain are done in a new way. They're actually integrated into the environment and for the most part they make sense , given the situation. You are also given choices on how to proceed in some instances and the game gives you multiple chances to mess up before your character actually dies. And even if that happens, it's not like you have to replay the sequence since the game will just continue without that character.
And secondly, QTE's are...
I know. It's pure genius. But I should point out that the player can change the camera angle by hitting the L1 button. Doing so seems to alternate between a long and a close shot. You can also pan the camera by looking in a given direction. This only seems to work in wide open locations like Mad Jack's junkyard ,though. The camera angles appear to be static in enclosed environments like Hasan's shop.
Yes. I look forward to giving her a buttwhupping during the inevitable boss fight as well.;)
@Jmare
I guess you're right. I'm just wondering how many players will ''fail'' that scene on purpose..just to see what happens. And I find that slightly disturbing, even if it is just pretend rape.
Run along now. Heavy Rain isn't suitable for people like yourself ,who have the intellect and attention span of a goldfish.
There's something very wrong with you ,if rape turns you on...
It's been delayed far too long. I'm still buying it when it gets released, but I'm no longer excited about this game.
Thing is... she's being forced to strip at gunpoint by a guy who has every intention of raping her. There's nothing consentual about it.
@BX81
Okay, fine. Here's how you tell one from the other.
QTE = Interactive cutscene. You're required to hit a bunch of timed button prompts as they appear on screen. You fail if you hit the wrong button, or if your timing is off. And you have no direct control over the character during this time.
Context Sensitive Controls = Actions that a videogame character can only perform during certain situations. Examples : Climbing a ladder. Opening a door....
Here's an idea. Why not make four demo's. One for each playable character. Either way, I'm not playing the demo either. I'm already sold on this game.
*Sigh* Heavy Rain's gameplay is based mainly around CONTEXT SENSITIVE CONTROLS, not QTE's. Why does no one seem to know the difference between the two?
Yes, there are. Check out this video.

I noticed the visual inconsistencies too. QD created the scenes shown at E3 during the three weeks leading up to the conference. David Cage stated that those scenes were still in the Alpha stage and were only 75% complete. I suspect the Gamescom footage is incomplete as well. Seems like QD is hell bent on not showing any footage from the final game until it's release.
Heavy Rain has the most impressive rain seen in a video game to date. Check out this video. You can actually see the rain dripping down the side of the car as Norman drives into the junkyard.It bounces off his shoulders as he walks around. And when Norman is speaking to Mad Jack, the camera zooms in and you can actually see the drops trickling down their faces. Amazing stuff.

Someone like him..?
What's that supposed to mean? Do you have a problem with playing as an overweight character?
So far it's only rpgs. Last Remnant, Lost Oddyssey and SO are the only games of which I am aware.
The amount of discs isn't the issue. Personally I'm fine with playing games on more than one disc. But as a number of other people have already pointed out it's going to be a problem with open world games. Rockstar have already complained because they had to cut down the size of the city in GTA 4.
And we all know how that ended..
I have the PS3 version and it looks identical to the 360 version shown in that comparison.
I assume that was a joke? David Cage has already stated that Heavy Rain will contain no supernatural elements.
I think the game will be released in Feb 2010. It should have the spotlight all to itself then. Just like Killzone 2.
Anyone else notice that the QTE BS really started taking off after E3 this year. I think it's 'cause Quantic Dream changed the interface. When they showed it at Leipzig last year it still had the old interface(where the prompts would appe...
