The writer is obviously a console-only gamer.. Space sims are just fine on PC. With titles like ED already out, and the monster that is SC coming in the next couple years, NMS is a little late to the party.
Not to belittle NMS because it looks great, but it isn't in the same league as the others, and it wasn't meant to be, they are a tiny team. Nor is it even a sim, so.. Now that it's been hyped to high heaven and articles like this are popping up all the time, p...
Why the need for "real" gameplay? This isn't a new IP, it's Gears, we all know it's going to be stuffing awesome, so I'm happy with getting more film-like trailers for titles we already know to explain what it's about, instead of some cheesy and essentially scripted gameplay..
I'm crossing my fingers this comes to Win 10, crossplay for Horde mode (which better not be left out this time) would be awesome to play with my little bro, Gears 3 Hor...
@ITPython.
There's something wrong with your system then.. "mediocre" settings? Look at some benches, even low-tier 2012 GPU's are able to achieve playable framerate at 1080p with medium settings. Maybe it's just the 970's gimped Vram causing problems, but if you can't even get "manageable" fps, then there must be some other issues.
A 980Ti would crush Gears but UWP apps are currently locked to 60fps, that doesn't m...
No PC reviews doesn't necessarily mean it will be a bad port. I think the biggest reason will be MS wanting to promote the X1 version, especially after all the flak Microsoft has received for bringing exclusives over to us. We'll probably see that a lot from now on unfortunately..
Yup, there's always hypocrisy. On one hand they'll mock a title for being badly optimized because they can't ultra it on a 780m, but then cry that there aren't any games like Crysis pushing things anymore..
Before buying ROTTR i read some Steam reviews saying how badly optimized it is, only to then find out that my 390x can run it on ultra @ 60fps/1080p..
Steam in particular is full of people with weak laptops and their parents Dells. That'...
DF are a joke compared to the OG big PC tech sites.. Their frametimes etc., are always lacking and incomplete, and they have been mocked by most of the PC community for the amount of misinformation they give out.
Whoever uses DF for PC hardware most likely plays on consoles.
"I don't like PC because i don't want to upgrade my hardware every few years, i know there won't be anything better for at least 5 years" - Said console gamers. Why the change of heart? Oh yeah, because now it doesn't suite their agendas.
Unlike PC where you can choose to only upgrade a specific component if it's lacking, console gamers will have to buy an entirely different system, but this is somehow acceptable? The writing has been on the wall...
You're wasting your time, especially on this site.. Most users here don't seem to be able to look further than their noses. If it's a question of which will "win" in short term sales then i think the answer is obvious, but long term? Sony don't stand a chance against the combined R&D of Nvidia, AMD, Intel, Samsung, Oculus, MS, Valve, HTC, etc, which is why even Sony are open to bringing their headset to PC.
They all think it's the Rift/Vive...
"Get a PC if you like to upgrade constantly for marginal improvements."
You mean upgrade when you want after a few years right? You don't HAVE to upgrade all the time, just when you feel like getting something better. Most people stay on the same GPU for a few years, and after that amount of time the upgrade is anything but "marginal".. More like 3 times the performance, GTX680 - 980 for example.
Besides, with both Microsoft and Sony ...
If they do this they will be competing directly with PC, consoles will lose one of the only advantages they have left over PC..
If it becomes a competition of upgrades then they will lose to PC anyway, on PC you can choose to upgrade only your GPU and give your rig new life for a few years, or you could only upgrade your CPU, or you can do a complete rebuild, it's all about choice. But console guys will be forced to buy a whole new machine, or stay with one the will be an...
They might still have a normal controller, this could just be the handheld part of the console that we heard about a while back.
Lmao! Seriously, who the hell would buy porn on bluray?
One of the perks of owning a console i guess..
Both will be available to people on the PC headsets so we'll see soon enough, lol.
Sony won't allow it on PSVR so it's not relevant there.
That's ironic isn't it... Sad about Evolution being closed down, i hope they all find jobs, good luck to them.
It looks like Microsoft "the destroyers of first-party" aren't the only ones who are a business.
Not on PS4 you're not, lol. You'll need an open platform for that.
Well, they weren't officially closed. The media and the misinformed were saying RIP all over the place..
If FL is canned then MS should let them work on something new. If ND kept making crash they wouldn't be half the studio they are today. Creativity breeds excellence.
The Vive has no equal atm, but that price is difficult to swallow, it's obvious they didn't make it for the mainstream. VR is in it's infancy, so I'm not sure why everyone is saying "PSVR will win".. Win what? Short term sales? Maybe, but these companies are playing the long game, something with equal/superior tech to the Vive will be available for $300 in a few years.
Oculus need to push their room-scale stuff if they want to compete, people/Youtub...
"Kinect sucks, all the games suck, no choice blah blah, MS should stop making Kinect games" MS then close their studios responsible for Kinect games, "MS are getting out of console gaming, the world is falling" Okay then, whatever you guys say..
If they restructure and invest the wasted money that went into Kinect, and focus on getting more Tripple-A first-party then i see this as a good thing. It sucks that some are losing jobs, but a lot of them will pr...
This game is a disaster for Nvidia too, a 970 is outperforming a 980Ti.. It's the Fury line that is hit the hardest for AMD.
"Pc is more robust in VR , but ours is more accessible."
Accessible is irrelevant unless you're the corporation benefiting from potentially more sales, it doesn't change the fact that PC and it's headsets (including the upcoming 4k ones) are far superior.
As for the rest of your post, i agree. This path is going to hurt consoles badly if true, and I'm surprised to see so many "excited" for it.. After all the garbage about &...
