Not sure where 2019 came from.. It's doable today, and with the 1080Ti people won't have to drop a grand to do it. Late this year/early next will be Navi and Volta, those are entirely new architectures and will slaughter games like TW3, even at 4K. In 2018 low-midrange cards will be capable, let alone 2019..

I agree the Pro offers pretty good bang-for-the-buck, but... articles like this are usually comparing apples and oranges, and disingenuously inflating prices..

Some major/minor differences between these comparisons;

1. 4K on PC is native, whereas it's only native on the Pro in some less demanding titles. People can arguing about upscaling all they want, point is it's not a fair comparison.

2. Most people on PC value performance ...

Wow look at the dislikes, lol. All he did was ask..

The users on this site have a serious case of bipolar.. On one hand you all mock Xbone owners for no "exclusives/games" because 90% of PS4 owners these days apparently have gaming PC's, and on the other hand you generally troll PC articles, and dislike comments that have anything to with PC..

The only explanation for this strange behavior is a lot of you are full of sh*t. For those intere...

The CPU they listed is the dumbest thing to pair with a RX 480 that i can think of, nor did they list the motherboard they ended up going with. But then somehow they pull $500 out their rear.. They've cherry picked one of the most bizarre combinations of parts just to paint a false narrative.

They also list the incorrect theoretical performance of the RX 480, its 5.8 teraflops, not 5.2..

It's not difficult to build a PC with a RX 480 and a cheap A...

This.

Not to mention if you plan to keep the Pro or PC for at least 3 years, then you can add $180 to the PC build thanks to PSPlus.. Incredible how consumers are okay with being forced to pay to use the internet they already pay for..

Apples to oranges anyway.. Building a PC rig also gets you, well... a full PC.

You're right, it's definitely not 1:1.. The RX 480 is a 5.8 teraflop GPU.

These articles are always full of ridiculously inaccurate information.. Where the author pulled 5.2 from i don't know. Probably did a quick google search and saw the theoretical performance pre-boost clock.

The optimization benefits of current consoles is also grossly exaggerated, things have changed. They now run on the same architecture as PC.

So after all your other comments in this article about it not being real/confirmed etc., etc. You now somehow know it's not in final silicon? And this thing that is supposedly not real actually has dev kits going out according to you? Which is it? Lol.

Stop stating your baseless drivel as facts..

Lmao, the denial is strong around here.. It's real people.

Lol, okay then..

What social features does PS4 offer that Steam/PC doesn't? Objectively far superior visuals based on the hardware, objectively superior headsets (although screw Facebook and Oculus, Vive ftw.), and objectively more social features, plus the literally dozens of 3rd party programs you can use on PC, you could even have an overlay with a webcam in the game if you wanted too.

Calling a winner on comfort is also way to soon to do... Keep ...

@Alexious - Gears U:E performs perfectly, even on low-end systems.. It was broken at launch but now it's fine.

I really hope Gears gets a PC release, with the game being on two platforms it will give Gears a chance to get the recognition it deserves.. The skill in the game is right up there with the best.

Agreed on Hypefestation ( or any Gears tournament really), the Gears community's passion and hype is only second to the FGC. It's the only title that even get's close to making me get a console.. There's very few games that give the same feeling as getting a clutch ...

If the X1.5 did end up more powerful then suddenly X1 fanboys will care about power and PS4 fanboys won't.. Fanboys will constantly flip-flop to feed their agenda, no matter what camp they're in.

Both will still get a smackdown from PC anyway.

What? The original Gears helped make MLG what it is.. The game is one of the most tactical shooters out there, which actually hurts it's mainstream appeal because of the skill gap and team based play. If you run into pub-stomper teams you have no chance of winning, no matter how good you are individually. I can't speak for Gears 4 because i don't own a X1, but if it ends up coming to Win 10 and is in the same spirit as Gears 1 then I'll pick it up for sure. If it does come to ...

It's not, but be prepared to lose bubbles, that seems to go in tandem with speaking sense around here..

Keep disagreeing with facts people.. It doesn't matter that both consoles are missing the necessary standards for things like 4k Netflix (with HDR) like HDCP 2.2, but also the required hardware for 4k Blu-Ray. So technically, yes PS4 can "support" 4k playback, but it's useless when there's no content to actually playback..

Nice thing about facts is that they're true, no matter how many disagrees i get.

The article and disagrees are r...

@kneon

I know, it was a tongue in cheek comment to the first poster. These consoles were not 'designed" for 4k playback, even if they can support it.

The Netflix CEO is one of the ones who hinted at the PS4k, because he said Sony had promised to have a more powerful console for 4k streaming with HDR compatibility (which Netflix will use). So even if the current PS4 can stream Netflix @ 4k, i doubt Sony would do that, they would rather push their late...

If they were indeed "designed" for it, then it's a pretty massive oversight to not be able to play 4k Blu-Ray's wouldn't you say? Lol, dumb article.

They'll probably be adding some more textures in, unfortunately the console community is still full of a bunch of morons that don't seem able to comprehend what a "real" beta is... So instead of them being able to just focus on the performance aspects (the point of a beta) they now have to deal with a bunch of ridiculous backlash over graphics.. But us PC guys are the graphics whores, lol. /s

I think i get what you're trying to say..

But accessibility is still irrelevant to someone like me, that's purely a profit/business driven perspective. I don't give a damn about their bottom dollar, or how many sales they get to brag about, i care about having the best experience possible, as long as the PC side of things is sustainable (with Valve's and others record profits I'd say it is), then it will still get it's own software support, while i ge...

It is looking like it's true though.. Sony usually squash rumors very quickly, yet they haven't addressed this one. If it was just one or two no-name websites then yeah, it's most probably false. But when like 6 big outlets independently say the same things, and developers say the same things, and then the CEO of the biggest retailer out there says it, well...

They also aren't just talking about a "slim" either, they've all stated it has more po...
